MP3, MSP and P5 Engine Management solution

I've been following this thread and I must have missed it.... but...
What's the target date for production? A range or season would be good to know. I think I'll be ready late summer. I'd also like to wait for a few people to get it installed before I plunk down the cash...
Because if I do this, I 'have to' ;) buy hardpipes, FMIC, and exhaust system. You know, for better fuel economy... or at least, that's what I tell my wife... ;)

Here's what Perfworks had to say.

We would like to be ready for the beginning of march. Once we get a few units back from testing we will confirm operation one more time. After that, Dyno runs, Tuning and confirmation again, we will post results and begin to reviel all our findings. AT that point we will start a GB.
Once the units are dyno run though we will start to take orders. So that we make sure we can get the demand filled. The responce has been overwhelming to say the least. I appreciate everyones comments and questions.
Thank you all for your patience. It wont be long now.
If there are any more questions feel free to ask. I will do my best to answer all of them.

I haven't looked at this thread in a while and s*** what do I see exactly that "s***". It's absolutly ******* stupid how a good thread can go bad so fast. I was hoping to read some more intresting news about how things are going but no. I swear this forum is sometimes too much like a damn soap opera

Thanks Viks... I was getting lost looking through this thread.

I think people are excited about it.

Midnight, this forum is indeed a soap opera. If you want to start a new one, feel free. I'll pop right over. However, I've just learned to live with the hyper-sensitivities and inaccurate speculation and rumor....

We are all excited, but on a product not yet released, its obvious, all the talks are speculative based on rumors.

There is nothing rumor about this EMS. The rumors are from ideas that people have spread who have no idea about the unit or its inception.
Again the reason for the thread was to allow people the oppurtunity to see that the aftermarket will be comming to the protege community. We will be setting a standard for some to follow or work against. It will be quite interesting what will be said once we do actually market our unit soon. It does take a while sometimes to get it all together. I appreciate everyones patience.
Please continue with questions. We can answer some that haven't been addressed yet.

Yeah I appreciate Perfworks and Wagner giving us a heads up before they come out with the product, just so I can have time to save up for it, lol. I wish honda/mazda would do that, let us know what cars may come out in the future, I would probably have a different car , and a great monthly payment =p

Sounds good guys. I left the site for a couple months and came back to a lot of changes. Looks like some friends have been made and some enemies too (wink) It's good to see an EMS is being dome for the NA guys. I can wait to see what the potential is.

Not sure if this has been answered yet, hell I might have even asked it, but have you had an oppurtunity to test things like cold start and the other more mundane functions of the parallel setup? Living in Minnesota, I really need to make sure that things like this work properly.

Thanks and keep up the hard work,

Joe

Perf mentioned how this would be able to register outside temps and adjust for cold-starting. The way I understand it is that it's an "intuitive" system. It gradually learns your driving style and enviornment. The parrallel will still allow for the stock systems such as cold start-up.

Hope this helps.

Nick, This does look promising. CorkSport is done with their HalTech unit now. I had my RX-7 guru look over the specs, and he was genuinely impressed with it. He wasn't keen on the price, as most of us probably weren't. So if this has the same results, for less money, I am all about it. I just hope they release pricing before we all lose interest (or money).
Let us know...Nic (no k)

Damn that is good news for 3rd gen guys. I hate mazda for given us this bad damn open loop wide open throttle crap argghhhh...

I hope it doesn't cost more than a haltech or similar Stand alone, but then it has the advantage of being plug and play.

Good to see your back. You will be quite impressed soon.

The Cold start, Warm start, Cold enrichment for fuel and timing, Crank pulse for intial cranking and hot starts are all features that have been accounted for in the EMS among many other configuartions. The car will run just like stock with the parallel unit. IMHO much better than stock in many instances. We take all the inefficiencys out of the picture that were present with the stock generic mapping thruout the entire rpm and throttle range. Control of the entire system is at hand. We designate what load and speed parameters will ge used and the resolution we want to adjust and compensate for. All will become very evident once we finish R&D.
