not worth it, no'one will buy it at that price.
n/a wise these engines are pretty weak in todays terms...f/i is really the only method to make them semi reliable and powerful

i agree jaje. however FI isnt an option for me right now (building a project car for boost)....i want advanced timing, better fuel control and VICS control. On my SHO I could open the secondaries at 3200rpms and smoke tires over from a roll....it was awesome...something like that would really help out here. For everyone that argues about this being worth $1500+ I want to see a show of hands of people who would actually pay that for this when you could buy a low boost turbo for the same money and get more power?? I know it'll help the FI guys more, but still.....$1500???

why doesn't everyone take a step back and relax and let perfworks release this thing. It seems like anytime a company posts something on here about a new product everyone acts like little school girls "when's it coming out?" "what the price" etc. In reality only about 1/4 of the people on here who say they want it actually buy it. We all like new things that come out but people need to learn to patiently wait for it before posting 3 pages of nothing.

Because they post about something without even releasing it. 1st page doesnt say anything either...most turbo people here know what they want....they need to know how much is going to cost, and FACTS.

Bringing 1k out of the pocket is not so easy, at least for me. Im saving for the J&S but if I find this solution better by the mid february, I will buy it.

So this is an AEM, how about Motec?? Is the project still going on? Also AEM running in parallel right, so the stock ecu still controls the engine accessories right? So if I go full stand-alone, how is that going to be solved with the AEM? And you have different versions are they just software versions? It's still the same AEM EMS hardware right? So if we get 1 map can we get another map from you later on? So say like 1 for fuel efficiency and performance over stock, 1 for all out track racing, 1 for safe mode, and the ability to go back to stock ecu for emission testing purpose? Thanks for your time.

1500k is not bad for a well tuned engine with the ability for future tuning to your taste. Yea you can buy these bolt-ons blah blah and get !#%#@ amount of hp gains at like $600. But I think this is a 1 time investment that is well worth it's value in gold. I rather have a balance smooth engine that is not only powerful, but efficient. It's all about balance.

The thread on Motec is here:

Lets all keep our heads. Perfworks has at least given us an option for some type of EMS for our cars. So let us not get ahead and start dictating what price he must charge. Remember that research and development takes time an money. Thank You , keep up the good work. BTW I did not mean to leave out Andy|

This sounds very promising. The main question is... just how much boost will a person be able to run on stock internals safely around town? Oh please say at least 10-11psi with the Wagner kit

im not saying this isnt a great item.....i'm saying for it to sell it's going to need to be cost efficient. the NA guys (me) will not get nearly the gain of the boosted guys. Therefore the PnP isn't worth as much...IMO. I REALLY want to buy one. I just dont feel that anything over $600-700 is worth it.

I would trust Nick and andy with my first born......if i had any.

I have one good question

does this systems monitor ping/knock and references it to retard timing, for a protection?

Until engine blows.

If your engine blew @ 18psi, then you know it doesnt hold there...
try 17psi... :D

so this unit controls all the "good" stuff? well as some of the others have said, what about all settings that the stock ecu controls? does the pnp take over for that too if you go full stand alone? also with the pnp, so that just plugs into...... and then you can adjust your settings from that. i want to run around 10 psi and i know i need new plugs and stuff but would i need this pnp too? or just if i want the engine to except this up in the boost better?
thanks

Spool managed 18 psi on stock rods, you can probably tool around at 11 psi safely if tuned perfectly

I have talked to Nick and Andrew about this project, and trust me, it will be well worth it. :D for NA and Forced Induction.

Leave off the guesstamate pricing, and let them release the price for each system. :D

I really cant wait for this to come out. I've wanted the AEM since I had my last car but it was NA I wasn't near the limits of the motor. Since Mazda blessed me with this flaky ECU the need for the PnP is greater. This will greatly increase the potential of the MSP.

Damn Four pages since this morning. Not too shabby.
I will post directly to many of the posts so please be patient. Thanks.
Then I will get into some more specifics about the unit and the options available.:D
