just fyi akhillius, Perfworks started working on the MPI and saw that it wasn't going to do what he wanted it do so he abandoned the project. MPNick, continued with it and has basically gone "the other way" that perfworks wanted to go with it.
p.s. Just because a unit is cheaper doesn't mean it's better. You get what you pay for.

We have been tuning with the piggybacks for many years now. Long Before Perf owned a Protege. Lets not post things like this anymore. This is not true at all.

You pay for what you get, if you can get it. Just because it cost more does not mean it works better.

I have definite interest in this setup. I personally am glad that the AEM pnp was mentioned to us prior to it coming out officially. People need to stop being impatient and be happy that we can read information about future possibilities. It gives us some foresight so we can weigh our options and can plan our future modifications more accurately. Yes, my car prefers travelling down well-paved roads but that doesn't mean that it doesn't want to drive on other roads. I always appreciate being able to see the proposed new roads on my map.

Please can we stop bashing new product ideas prior to them coming to fruition?

Okay. I hope it has become obvious to everyone here that the bashing only distracts from the information that is trying to be provided for our community.

It seems like both of you have come to a point where you no longer want to waste your time on the bashing and nonsense. So please, everyone, stop.
Good information was posted in both threads. Good luck trying to find it amongst all the rest of the s***. Perf's timeframe was a little skewed. He did mention on numerous occasions that we would have to wait, and he attempted to apologize for the delay, but was greeted with more negative feedback. It must be hard for him to concentrate on what he's doing when people are flinging s*** at him left and right. MPNick's product has been repeatedly put down in favor of a product that is still under development. I can understand how he could take offense to some of the things that have been said.

Please take into consideration that these forums are not really a professional atmosphere and when people start flinging s***, everyone is going to end up getting involved or getting hit with it. Just relax people, the more tense you act, the more I think that some of you are just bitter assholes who can't get laid.

You know what...... I am starting to feel the same way! This is suppose to be an informative thread and is just turning into a thread full of insults and put downs that I really can't stand. I will not comb through this thread because it has 40+ pages already but I may lock it and have Perf. start a new one due to the fact that the AEM is not released yet. If that thread gets jacked then the post will be immediately deleted. This is getting out of hand and has to stop!!!

This thread is about the PnP AEM for the Protege. Just keep at that and knock off all the other BS. Do not try to cause more problems by posting more BS. Can you not see that this is what brings down this and other threads? If you cannot keep it to that then maybe you should not post here or on any other thread.

Actually from what i understand the AEM should be ready to debut within less than a month on the protege... And yes although the MPI does serve certain functions.. the AEM more than compensates for its extra cost both in the areas of timing and fuel as well as the literally hundreds of other areas it can tune. And i chose NA over FI cause i dont have $4k to throw around on toys... some people arent as blessed financially as u r KZA. But i will refrain from saying anything more until this item is public. I apologize for the critical statements but in my opinion i think they were warranted.

Although i am sure we all know this here.. i want to support perf on this... especially in comparison to the mpi tuner. 1st there is no comparison whatsoever. For MPNick to say anything against the AEM unit is absurd. The ghetto/rigged mpi tuner.. for that is what it is.. which was mostly built by perfworks in the first place(although he gets no credit) and hopelessly tied to together by MPNick is a minimal unit. I tried to explain how comprehensive the AEM is to the mpi tuner people... what a waste. No one can imagine just how awsome the AEM is. Yeah some say i am kissing ass... well **** em... i know amazing software when i see it(grew up with computers/programming) and the AEM unit is it. And as was just said.. soemtimes it is better to wait and perfect than rush and disappoint

I was thinking of organizing something like that actualy.
I think it would be awsome to have a protege EM shootout in august or july. Bascily put the MPI, Perfs creations, Hiboost system, any Microtech, any haltech, and hopefully the flyin protege Links.

I think it would kick ass to see these cars battle it out. I think with something that biog we could get several magazines involved and perhaps get a track for the day.

August or July of what year??? - mark my words - August and July will come this year - and they still we be a few weeks away.

If they prove me wrong, then maybe I just gave them the kick in the pants they needed to finish the thing. To anyone who is considering buying the unit all I will say is this: There is nothing wrong with saving your money, but don't hold your breath or count your chickens before they're hatched.(blah)

Man this thread is soooo fun to read. Sifting through the last 3 or 4 pages of arguments just to find out the product has not been dynoed is great. If one thing wasn't frustrating, the other sure is.
