MP3 / Mazdaspeed Protege Conversion Guide

Im not sure junk yards i doubt would have them at least none around here do. I was going to do the conversion but got caught up in another project still might later or if i can find some good deals.

If they are mechanics im sure they could do it wouldnt be hard at all but if they dont have much paint experiance still might want some1 to paint it.

what would paint costs be to make it equal to factory paint job?

Front bumper cover--BN7H-50-031-AA--MSRP--$204.25+paint

no the lower grill is:

B30P-50-1T1A

That number I gave you is for the upper radiator grill.. the one with the emblem on it. Which is the one you were asking for right?

Actually 1garnetredlx had it in his first post also....
Lower mesh grille--B30P-50-1T1A--MSRP--$27.00

Radiator grille--BN7H-50-710A--MSRP--$58.10

^this number might actually be the one with the satin emblem... but Im not sure about that price, it seems really low.

Jeremy any thoughts on the difference between these two part numbers?

BN7H-50-710A
B30P-50-710

actually hold up .. Im talking to someone at a dealership .. so I can tell you which one would be better to get....Plus I just found out I got ass-***** when I bought my upper grill.... ahahah

b30P-50-710 is the one I have. It has the black strip and chrome emblem. hth.

yeah... go with the one that starts with B30P.... I dont really know what the other one is.. But be prepared to spend as much as 140ish dollars if they charge you full retail price...

I think I am going with the fog lights instead of putting on my 03.5 msp lip. Is it the PIAA 40 or the PIAA 540 kit the closest to oem? And, if I get the PIAA do I have to still get a bracket from the Mazda Dealer or does the PIAA kit come with everything that I need. I am in the process of doing a MSP conversion of my ES so I don't have any existing fog light brackets. Do I need the fog light jumpr harness B30P-51-688A also since I already have the wiring for the ES fog lights?

EDIT: After doing a little more research, I think I going to go with the Pilot PL-362W's. Do I still need any brackets or wiring harness?

I had the 540's and I needed the stock brackets and some washers... and your fogs should come with their own wiring harness. The PIAAs did.

Couldn't I just use the stock wiring harness that's already in the car along with the stock fog light switch?

i have the piaa 40s. i just drilled holes in the back of the housing, and ran bolts through the holes in the bumper. very ghetto indeed, but it works. and i just spliced into the wires instead of buying the harness. i regret doing that now...but hindsight is 20/20

Why do you regret it if it works? Are you having problems with the foglights (flickering, burnout, etc...)?

Did any of you guys who have the ES and did this conversion have the chip resistant guard on the bottom sides of your car? When you put the side skirts on, how did it look after? I think with the sides skirts on there will still be an inch showing that is on the bottom of the doors. I am afraid that it's going obvious on my silver car and going to look like crap. What did you guys do and do you have any pictures of this?
