MP3 / Mazdaspeed Protege Conversion Guide

I have an LX and have the chip resistant crap.. but like MP3wannabe said you can hardly tell..:

Well, I hope it won't look so bad. I tried to clean mine as much as possible but it has a slightly brown tint to it from dirt. We'll see.

I'm almost done. I just need to put the foglights in and get a wind splitter for the front bumper. I have the 03.5 front air dam and got it painted but I think it might be more of a headache with driveways and large dips so I might just be selling it. I am still debating though. Here are some pics. What do you guys think?

BTW, you guys are right about the chip resistant stuff not being that noticeable. You have to look for it to see it.

Thanks everyone for all your help!!!

Looks nice! IMO, it will look even better if you remove the ES decals on the fenders.Jusy my opinion though. Good job on the conversion!(2thumbs)

Ok guys i've a really good question now!! Do u think it looks alright to do the Front bumper and Spoiler first, since i'm short on cash, then add the skirts, and valence later, kinda half and half????

I think that'll look alright. Just as long as you work your way to the back of the car. If you were to just have a rear lip on or some sort like that, than i'd think it'll look weird. And since you're adding the wing, it should come out even.

Thanks all for the compliments. Good to know that all that money spent was worth it. I really like the way it came out. Now I just need more go!!!

It's funny you mentioned that. I was outside the other day peeling off some decals. I think it would look nice without them too.

Well i'm putting the cool spoiler that comes up in the air no the one with 3 pegs, that's one is totall just wrong for the car!

But I've decided to see how it looks with stock foglights, and the new spoiler, maybe it will be sporty enough, i dont know but the front bumper reinforcement cost way too much, and i'm not cutting the other one...

Any ideas???

You mean like this. This is how my car looked a few months ago.

i thought about doing that to mine, (front and rear lip and sideskirts) but I damaged my stock bumper going downhill @ Magazine Mt. in Arkansas. So I went ahead and did the front conversion. My next appearance mod is sideskirts. I'm gonna leave the rear mud-flaps and no rear lip for a rally look. It's already dropped an inch on MSP struts and springs. And I wouldn't mind getting a stock wind-splitter for the front, too...

I should be getting my car back today at 4pm, a LX to this -> (bluemp3) (headbang) (drive) (rockon) (flash) (nana) (yippy) (shocked) (cabpatch) :D (2thumbs) (2thumbs) (cool) (bow) (birthday) (thumb) (humpleg)
