Vivid Yellow Mp3
well i went to san antonio raceway the othe rnight to see what i got for my time....i have never been to the track before so i was i guess pretty nervous
but for my first run haha i had a bad astart my R/T was 1.3 and i didnt rev at all so i made a 17.2 :( haha but then i went a gain and made a 16.5 @ 83 mph with my R/T at .690.....i guess thats pretty good

I dunno what Mp3s run stock though, so i couldnt compare or anything, but i have a cold air intake and thats it, does any one know what stock mp3s run?

i guess im doing this to get advice or something...where i should rev to, when to shift i guess...(im such a n00b) haha well thianks :D

I ran a 17.2 at 79.XX mph on my first run at the track with a reaction of .9XX. My second run was a 16.763 at 82.41mph with a .891 r/t. My third and best run was a 16.463 at 82.40mph with a .803 r/t. I had just a short ram intake at the time. I haven't been to the track since I got my flywheel and clutch. I'm looking to run mid-15s to high-14s at the track with the new stuff.

if your stock clutch wasn't slipping which im sure it wasn't since your car is stock, a new clutch isn't going to drop your times at all(maybe 1 tenth) also with the lighter flywheel you will probably get more wheelspin off the line.

i got a .52x reation time last night =) but at moroso if you get a .50x you get a free test and tune day, i was trying to get one but only got 2 runs.

With a lighter flywheel you will need to practice your launch again. It will not make your wheels spin so bad on the contrary, your car may die on the launch if you dont rev it a bit higher.

If you are looking for the 14s, you need more than just intake/exhaust and clutch. Better work with weight and stuff. Make your car lighter, get good grip and some more performance wise mods. Everything cost $.

The reaction will not affect your trap times.

actually my stock clutch was fried to the point that you could just about use it for a mirror. I'd been riding on for a year b/c I had the 3/4 shift fork go on me last january. I got the trans repaired under warranty but they denied replacing the clutch also. So I had to wait a year. From what I have felt, my 9lb flywheel has given my car better response and acceleration. I'm making a guess on the difference in the way the car moves. If it gets me to a mid-15 second or quicker e/t I'll be happy. If not, I needed a new clutch and fly to begin with so it was justified. Also, I'm not all about drag racing either. I've only been to the strip twice. I spend my time on an auto-x course. so whatever works, works.

ur not getting it bro

MP3: short ram, intake, flywheel will not = 15's, maybe a 15.9 if u hook perfect and are just the badass driver of the universe.

First off, I'm not ignorant. Second, do either of you have a fidanza flywheel in your car or have had one? Have either of you ridden in an mp3 with one? I'm not trying to be rude but I don't appreciate being called ignorant or having someone talk s*** after I've already explained myself.

But, I guess if I want shut the nay-sayers up I'll have to actually make a trip to the strip. Or would a dyno run suffice?

i had the fidanza flywheel and a clutchmasters clutch in my mp3 when it was NA.. The difference wasnt to noticable... with the flywheel it will be harder to launch, you need to keep the rpm's up or it likes to bog.

Yeah, I've noticed that also but I've got the launch down again. I had a problem the night I put it in though. The pedal feel is the same but the engagement is a lot different on the stage2 as opposed to the stock clutch. I need to dyno the car b/c I'd like to see exactly what it's putting down at the wheels instead of having to guess.

ok man, listen to me carefully....

how many mp3 owners are on this board.....
how many have mods......
how many have told us the gains of those mods....
i've been on this board for a year listening to the said things above....

clutch and flywheel and intake WILL NOT get u into the 15's

I know how many MP3 owners are on this board. I know most of them have mods. I know that some have said their gains, I may not have seen the results though. And I've been on this site since it known as MazdaMP3.com. Seriously, I'll go to the track and make my runs. But, I'm tired of arguing you. If you don't think I can run a 15, you could have at least said good luck instead of trying to turn this into a pissing match. B/c IMO unless you've tried yourself, don't say it can't happen. Now if someone who owns an MP3 with a fidanza clutch were to tell me that I can't hit a 15-sec run then I wouldn't feel as if I were being attacked.

Hahaha, YES a flywheel will drop a half second! hahahah, sorry, couldn't keep a straight face...

this isnt a pissing contest, if it were pissing contest, well i'd win just because i am the s***..... on another note....

good luck running a 15 in a mp3 with clutch and flywheel.... wait no that doesnt sound right, how about i just call u an asshat and say ur slow like the rest of us N/A MP3'ers. have a nice day.

i dont think this guy is intentionally being arrogant or anything, just a bit hopeful. i think we are all a bit hopeful with new mods before we get em tested out... best of luck man, but i don't think youll get 14s or even close. keep moddin and ull get to mid 15s :-)
