I have a 2002 Mazda Protege5

I was told by Mazda that I need to replace Motor Mount#3 and Front Engine Motor Mount.

To replace through Mazda its to expensive. So I have been looking for the parts to have them replaced. Every where I go (Advance Auto/AutoZone) do not have them listed as Motor Mount #3 and Front Engine Motor Mount.

Auto Zone says its back motor mount (right/passenger side) and Front.
Advance Auto says its motor mount right and left.
Mazda says its Motor Mount#3 and Front/lower Engine Motor Mount.

I know front is referring to front but Motor Mount #3 I have no clue.

I need understanding on how many mounts are there and which are correct. Im thinking they are all the same but just called differently at the stores. If you can please provded me with some information.

Thank you

Pretty sure its the same locations as proteges. You have four mounts, one in the front, one on the driverside under the airbox attached to the transmission.one on the passenger side by the wheel well.and one in the back of the engine bay underneath.the numbering of the mounts I dont know about though

The #3 mount is the passenger (right) side mount (see attached).

I purchased https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) for my manual P5. So far I've done the passenger side (#3) and the transmission side (AKA driver AKA#4). I still need to do the front (AKA LOWER AKA #2) and the rear (#4).

You're in luck though!

#3 and #2 are the easiest mounts to replace. With the right tools you could have them swapped out in 30 minutes each. Just don't be an idiot like and strip the #2 nut so you can't get it off -- get some PB Blaster and let it soak for a good long while so it slides off easier.

Note: there may be a possible issue with the #3 (passenger side mount). The issue is that the center of the holes on the automatic tranny engine mount are about 3/8" offset from the manual. The link I ordered I above is an aftermarket mount which is listed as an automatic mount, but worked just fine on my manual tranny - however, I borrowed a friend's engine hoist and had the transmission mount off so was able to get everything aligned just fine without any problems (but then again, the front & rear were still tightened so there was not very much play). I was worried that there will be heavy vibrations after install, but in reality everything is not much smoother and snappier.
