jsut like the title says.

what are good mods for an automatic and within 5- 6 gs?

cuz i'll have that much to spend on the car

uh oh. i feel the big "s" word coming on:)

5-6k? dude, give it to me for research and i'll let you know after i'm done....

seriously though, i think you could throw a turbo on there + some tranny/suspension work for that price. where in the city are you?

i dont want to kill the life on the car tho want something thats like the most realible stuff out ther ... i just want to be able to kill the rice rockets fukers wiht my P5... thier expression should be priceless

welcome. with that much to spend and judging by what u want out of it, turbo is the best bet, but many auto p5s have blown their tranny's because of it. honestly, headers/intake/exhaust wont get u anywhere... i think more apperance mods or sound mods would be your best bet. good luck!

You should be able to swap to a standard(manual) transmission and still have plenty left over for something like the Hi-Boost turbo kit.

sorry to burst your bubble man. turbo on an automatic = not reliable in any way, shape, or form. your best bet is intake, headr, exhaust, cams, ud pulley, etc. and sorry, you still wont be able to beat a lot of 'rice rocket fuckers.'

Yeah go with the standard mods.

I have an auto also. With these mods I have a much peppier car.
Here's my mods:
CAI w/a DEI thermal intake blanket (charge stays nice and cool all the way to the TB) :-)
UDP
Magnaflow cat back
OBX header
N/A MPI piggy back
MP3 manifold w/thermal spacer (not installed yet)
TB coolant bypass
Trans cooler

One of the guys on the board is gonna try to install the lentech valve body in his auto tranny. If it works that would be a great mod to have.

Frisco huh? you should checkout: www.moccforums.com

Its mostly so-cal people, but theres a group of guys from the south bay that do a lotta mountain runs and stuff. Great people.

I would no suggest going turbo unless you're planning on doing some serious transmission work ie: tranny swap to a manual, or full bulletproof auto transmission.... or you could just no boost very hard, but then whats the point right?

Look into some suspension mods.. Tien or JIC coilovers and AWR rear sway bar, and you'll be very happy with your car... and you'll still have lots of money to spare.

Wazzup bro! Check out my mods on my AT p5. SR motorsports cams, custom cold air intake, UR underdrive pulley, SR water pump and alternator pulley, Ractive 4 to 1 race header with 2.25 exhaust ( no converters) and hyperground kit. I love the way N/A sounds. I have other mods too but this is on my motor only. So far, so good. No problems and it's way faster than stock, very happy with set up. Once I teak air/fuel, I know I'll be the quickest A/T P5 in my home town. Try to keep your car as light as possible too. At this modest stage of performance, my car pulls pretty hard. The tranny holds up great, it does need a better torque converter. My buddy Eric has a stock P5(5spd) and was surprised with the torque and throttle response of my modded p5. I choose wisely about the cars I race and this helps me have a better race record. I hope I helped you out with my ideas. Good luck with yours.

Yo Latinking! I'm guessing I have about 165hp because it pulls hard enough to keep up or pass a good number of cars that I've raced. My ride is all function man. I bought a Greedy e-manage unit I want to install this spring also, so when the cars on the dyno I'll post the results so you guys can see. I'm working on some pics with my new digital camera right now so you guys can see how sweet it is. No bodykits or carbonfiber, just give me more go fast parts thank you much! I raced a 5 spd p5 with an Injen cold air and sparkplug wires and I freakin smoked him, honestly, and my car was running like crap I thought anyway. He said when he shifted to 2nd that I pulled away like a mo fo, that was such a cool feeling because I worked hard on my car to hear someone say that!

By the way, that number of 165hp is not at the wheels, I'm not really sure about hp but it does pull hard enough for me anyway.

With that much cash to play with you could find out more about turbo A/T and prove that it can work even with high boost. It's up to you but I know hondas are are doing it with great success so why not a P5? Right? One turbo worth 4k goes faster than 4K worth of bolt ons or am I wrong? 4K worth of N/A tweaks is alot of work and labor costs. I'm not sure why but I think the A/T would handle alright, within reason. It depends what kind of turbo you get. Some build power with smooth delivery and others have sharp powerful bursts. That's enough dough to play hardball with and smoke a good number of cars in the 4 banger class I think anyway. Yeah. You could install a turbo with conservative boost and probably be content. I know I would be cool with that for now. Tons of stuff are becoming available for our cars so your choices are endless really. It's up to you in the end decision. These new turbo kits are tried and tested for reliability and quality etc. I would go with a kit that's designed for the P5 because it comes with all the goodies ready to install. Going custom will take more time and dedication to more of a specific need you might be after. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong. That's my 2 cents. Anyhow, good luck and research with lots of questions because that's what we're here for! Later! Don't forget to add to my rep please!

wow.....I feel like we'd be doing this member a huge dis-service but not mentioning that there is soon to be another mod for the 2.0L cars. This one makes power, and doesn't pour torque on the tranny like a turbo.
