I'm running the map in post #43, cranked the mixtrm to like 40% at one point, and it keeps leaning out at boost. I haven't even tasted boost yet :(

My mods are:
MSP turbo setup (ATP wastegate, 8psi supposedly)
FMIC
GHL 3" downpipe out
PG IM
WRX 440cc injectors

Hopefully I can tune it to play nicely, but the front suspension feels wonky as hell. Gotta fix that first.

what happens specifically to your AFR's with the +40% when boosting? ANY change at all?

I have my mixtrm set at 12%, and I'm getting 12s for my afr in boost (8psi) using stock injectors. The only time I was going lean was when letting off the throttle to cruise, but I just up'd my 30"-10" valves across the entire rpm range and it corrected it.

The problem I'm having now is that the car is very "jumpy" when going on and off the throttle at lower speeds.

I couldn't tell you for sure, mainly because of the driveability of the car. But the AEM WB seems to go to super-lean aka no display. I really wish I had the logging feature.

What microtech do you have? some of the more recent ones you can plug an aftermarket wideband in, then log to lap top..might help.

if mixtrm isn't helping you, as in, no change in AFRs whatsoever...i'd be looking elsewhere, maybe a fuel pressure or fuel surge problem?

Pump1....
nasty bugger to get "right".

i'll have a look at my pump settings later tonight if i remember...

That would be helpful if you could. I was reading through the MT manual and figured it was related to the Pump1 settings. I'm going to play around with it a bit this weekend, if I figure anything out I'll post my settings as well.

this is what i got from steve.

"The pump settings are what you need to mess with. There are basically 3
settings for each and one setting that determins which is used.

The value called Pump2Start should be an rpm value around 2500 and is what
chooses the pump to be run.

Then each pump basically has 5 values : TimingAdvance, Amount, Trigger,
Stop, and Pulses/Time

Stop should be set to either 15 or 17 for Pump1 and set to 0 or 2 psi for
Pump 2. This is the value that when you are pulling less vacuum than (aka
more boost, or lower "hg number) that the pump becomes disabled at.

Timing advance for each should be 3 for pump 1 and 2 degrees for pump 2

Trigger for pump 1 should be 5 and trigger for pump 2 should be 7, this
value is how much pressure change is required to meet a "pump" condition.

Pulses or Time should be set for about 4 for pump1 and 7 for pump 2 and
that is the number of injector cycles it will spray the extra fuel for.

Amount is the amount of fuel that will be added for the pump. Pump 1
should be less than 5% and pump 2 should be between 20 and 38 %."

as lord worm said, the low rpm jerk/buck is the the pump1. for me i get it 2400 and lower and only while cruise. i fixed it then it came back again, but not nearly as bad.

Ok... newbish question as I go out to tune here in a bit. What do you guys tune to for non-boost situations, 14.7 AFR? I'm going to aim for 12.0 or just under for boost. Would you want it to start richening up as it gets closer to boost?

i'm as inexperienced as you but from what i understand you would want to run 14.7 cruise and idle. 12 for boost, 13 for low vac and just shoot for having the afr's progressively leaning as vac drops.

yeah that is as good an explaination as any... I've used steve's settings before and they don't work so well with my tune - but they give a good starting point...

i have the microtech advanced tuning manual here somewhere too, i'll try and find their pump1 setup proceedure in that (its not very detailed but will give you some clues!).

I was just outside following that manual. I managed to get my idle at 880rpm and very smooth, and also got rid of most of the jerking on and off throttle. I had to make adjustments to the idle and load maps from -30hg to -10hg.

LT8S. Anyways, it definitely had some effects as I played with it today, but boost still was sputtering. I'm wondering if I have a leak in the IC piping somewhere. I found one of my non-MT related problems, front passenger's brake seems to be dragging. Need to resolve those issues then work on the tuning :D

Looking for 550cc base maps

If anyone can share?

My set-up:

Built Short Block
GT28RS
550cc Injectors
MT LT10s
Autometer WB

Thanks,

Ok, issues fixed, now time to tune! Woohoo! I lowered my mixtrm back to 22% or 25%, can't remember, as I was running Bill Gates' rich on the top end. Now I just need a buddy to drive while I tune. I tried hooking up the WB to the logging wire, but I think mine just logs narrowband. Basically it'll show 11 AFR for a long time, a couple blips of something else, then 14.7 AFR for a long time.

I have a 550 map that I used on a stock engine / stock turbo. Should probably get you started ... but I gotta try and find it. I'll post it up as soon as I can find it.

Mark, If you bought your Microtech through me or Ken it should have at least one 550 map on your laptop adapter. If you didn't buy it from us then we are not in the habit of sharing the maps we have developed specifically for our customers. I know we have had one or two people (and specifically from Canada too) cancel or not place an order with use because they wanted to save money or whatever and buy it from someone else... so they lose that part of the package. If you got it from us and the 550 map on your adapter doesn't work well enough I can get you one of the updated maps as needed though.

Thanks!

Steve

Ya Steve, long story short, the MT I'm using came direct from OZ. I'd appreciate any support though.
Thanks,

I lost my dynotuned map while trying to save it on my adapter on MemCal3 and instead loaded a blank MemCal3 overwriting my unsaved dynotuned map :(

i'm using the base 550cc map and now i'm getting a lot of pinging now.

i tried to tune it last night by pulling timing in timtrm to 0, timmax to 16, pulled eventually an addition 10 degrees per boost in tmap and t-rpm and although it got better, i still was getting a lot of audible pinging. i ended up jus loading back the basemap again and drove home.
