micro tech lt 10 aux. wires

:
03.5 msp
do I need to connect all of these wires? or are they truely optional like the manual says. and what is the big 12 v fuse for? I guess its a fuse but it has 4 or 5 prongs the back

ok I have everything figured out except for this one wire. it's grey/white. I went through the manual twice and do not even see it in there.

Did you email their tech support? Or Steve? Both are usually quick to respond.

the big "12 volt fuse" is a relay..and its used to turn your fuel pump on and off

aux wires are completely option but i use, or plan to use all of them...heres how:

i use the temp triggered aux output wire to fire up my thermo fans... i've just wired this straight to the standard mazda fan relay... replacing the standard ecu signal line wire with the microtech one.... works a charm.

I use the RPM triggered aux output wire to activate VICS. You'll need to purchase another automotive relay to do this...and it needs to be either a reverse type (normally closed), or one that can be wired as either normally opened or normally closed to work.

the stepper motor control aux output wire I plan to use to control my idle air control...gotta figure out how best to wire this though.

The inputs, i'm putting one input on the airconditioning compressor once I get the aircon fixed, to instruct the microtech to "idle up" when the aircon is on..the other input is going to be used to trigger water/meth injection.

ok now I have no dash lights temp gauge does not work fuel gauge does not work radio does not work and the microtech lights are not coming one either. what wrong?

I would try and contact turfburn here on the forums he is very knowlegable about LT10 and microtech overall. Where did you purchase your lt10 from?

steve/turfburn. I pmed him but have gotten no response yet. it hasnt been very long ago

email him
steve at nsnmotorsports.com

He usually gets back within 24 hours.

You're not going to have a temp gauge period though.... the microtech hijacks it...unless you get another temp sensor, its one of the things you give up.

As for not having power..may sound silly - but is the battery connected and charged? Have you completed the circuit that powers the microtech?

blown fuse?
how have you wired the microtech power? straight from the battery with a fuse in between or did you run it from one of the original vehicle fused circuits?
i mean if you connected the mt (big red wire) to the battery and it's got a good earth (big black wire) then there is cause for concern.

Odd...

You do hear the fuel pump prime up with the MT... the MT will run the fuel pump at max power all the time, so its noticably louder than stock...so you prime your fuel lines before you kick it over, and you can hear the fuel rushing through the rail etc... is that the noise you are hearing? or is it an electrical buzzing noise? like a bad lightbulb sort of buzz?

I also recommend a spare battery...getting it started the first time is an exersize in draining your battery....cos inevitably it wont catch the first time you kick it over.

ohhhh my God. I think I might shoot myself in the face. me and steve have been pming each other since saturday. we went through all of this crap. and my damn battery is about dead. in his last pm he said my battery is either dead or I have my wires screwed up. so I went into the basement and turned my headlights on. THEY WERE BARELY VISIBLE. I hate myself. for some damn reason I did not think of doing that way before. the noise I was hearing was the alternator.

Yep. My buddy has been working on his B18C1 swap on his Civic and has killed the crap out of his battery cranking it. I think he is buying a battery charger, which is good. Now I can steal it :D

yeh in the end i had 2 batteries on a rolling cycle of charge while one was being used to crank and do other stuff.

still, a week later i managed to drain the battery again by not switching the wideband unit....stuck to always on it was drawing current while the car was off....dead battery :p

ok now the car will not turn over. any thoughts on this issue?
is it trying to crank?

Fuel pump connected? lights on the microtech coming on? spark working? all your outputs working?

theres actually a test screen you can goto on the microtech - essentially you reconfigure it to say its got 0 cylinders...it then generates its own crank signal at 1800rpm and fires off everything except the injectors.

its a good way to test that you're getting spark, your inputs and outputs are working, your sensors are going etc....

edit: my bad it does fire the injectors, just doesnt run the fuel pump...

that is one of my problems is that I can not get a connection between my laptop and micro tech. I went out and bought a usb serial adapter but for some reason that does not work. I also went to belkin.com to download the latest software for it but that did not help either.
