yeah, I'm with you, I didn't vote for my car either. I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed for saying it, but voting for yourself just seems kind of vain.

That is honorable but I don't think it's vain. Hopefully your car is exactly what you hoped it would be, it's only normal that it should be your #1 Fav.

I personally loose complete touch with why I put so much into my car during the winter months, however, the first time in the spring that it comes off the jack stands and I harness myself in the front seat... ALL DOUBT VANISHES WITH ONE SINGLE TURN OF A KEY.

Personal Opinion About Rotm Voting

With all the respect for the people that are leading this rotm and all of the others, I think they have to come out with a new way to participate in this type of Competition. There's lots of really awesome cars with lots of things done and varely getting voted, for example the RX-7 guy from Japan, the Speed6 etc, same people are getting voted every month, there's others people that deserves to win, for example, they should make Categories, Slighty modded, Medium Modded, and Heavily modded, also by car models, That way it's more fair to compete and everyone have a change to win. as i said my personal opinion is that the competition the way it is right now it's not fair at all.. Including my self we all deserve to win someday..

i know how you feel. Lucky for me, it rarely snows here, so I get to have that feeling every day.

Your not getting my Point ? am i Complaining ? nope. just that i think we should do this every month in categories, i think theres nice cars in here, probably not like ours with a bunch of stuff done, i think those people deserves to participate in a fair way. like a said, in categorie. Obviously a car with just rims and exhaust got nothing to do against one that has 10k on it. that way we all get a recognize for what they have done to their car. I'am not complaining to make it clear, just and idea and personal comment. i'm not trying to be an ass and talk crap about others in these forum. these a constructive idea of mine.

I really Don't know how are the voting here. mods, look? or just for beign popular in here in the forum. I think we should participate in a categorie, Protege5, MSP's, MS3's, MS6's and all mazda's. that is a fair way to participate. there's lots of people including my self that we have spend lot's of hard work, money and time, and end up with just 8 votes like I'am. for example the RX7, it's bad ass, nice, the MS6 it's beautiful and look at the votes. probably those people including my self could have any chance by participating in categories, just like Last SummerPalooza in tampa. best MSP, best Mazda3. but it seems like in here people get mad about everything. In my Opinion like I say. if this voting is about Overall, JOKA1 and Brian should be winning with difference, because of all the money, hard work and time they spend on there cars. and it's not happening. none of them are winning ? is that fair ? my personal opinion not. so we should go with categories like real competition and meets..

Let me tell you something buddie, these is a freedom of speech forum and everyone as same as you can say what ever they think. There are very heavy moded and nice vehicles participating that barely are getting voted. you think thats fair ? would you like to participate in a ferrari contest and not get a single ******* vote ? everyone would like to atleast get recognize no matter how cheese or how bad ass your ride is. Categories is the best way. that's why in real events and shows they go with categories, everyone deserves to win, and have a fair participation.

Not everyone sees ROTM for how much somebody spent on there car. Some just dont like the taste of certain cars, even though that car spent X amount of money. Some take a quick glance at each car and say, "hey i like the way that car looks! i think ill vote him for ROTM," and dont take the mod list into consideration.

I feel theres no need to change anything about it. People have been in the running for monthssssss, and have yet to win. I dont see them wanting to change things because they havent won yet, they just keep on trying.

The way I see it, is you can vote however you want... some people like sleepers, so they vote for sleepers, some people like the most powerful/highly modified cars, so they vote for them, others like rice burners and so go after the guys with the big wide body kits, 20in chromies with spinners and underglows...
Each to their own!

Why ruin something that has been working fine for however many months, by changing the rules midway to suite a few people who havn't won yet..?

This may be the mazda forums, but i think the majority of cars, or at least the car owners with the most influence, are P5's/MP3's/MSP's...and so thats reflected in the vote... so what?

Just vote how you wanna vote...on whatever criteria you want to vote on... theres no need to be force fed criteria like "best interior", "best exterior" "most modified" or whatever...

Thats what i reckon anyway...

if your talking about me, i really don't give a damn thing about winning or not in this s***. I just can't Understand how better looking cars, mods and efford and not winning. when you participate in real shows, they go with categories. and everyone have a change. but people in here seems to just go with the flow and just stay quiet and not give an opinion, they just don't give a damn thing. suppously a forum is to share ideas, comments, thoughs etc. if you don't like my opinion your free to say what ever you want and feel about it. i just think that if you are participating in an event where's Porsches, Ferrari's, Viper's and you have a freaking damn Mazda, you got nothing to do ..but probably if you were competing in a category of your vehicle you might have a change.. you get the point dude... this comment it's not about my self, its about lots of people that deserves to particitape in something that might have a change... i don't give a damn thing about the car of the month in the forum. just like i said it's my opinion..

My opinion doesn't mean that they have to change anything, that's why it's just an opinion.. I'm just saying that it would be better, nicer and more competitive to participate in Categories, that way we have more people to vote and participate. It's ridiculous the amount of votes considering the amount of members in these forum...

Buddie, i'am not arguin or getting mad. but I can't give an Opinion here or what ? why everyone in here gets things the wrong way. I'm just giving a constructive idea not destructive or hiting on anyone.

The fact is that if you break it down into categories, you're losing the entire concept of "Mazda Forums' Ride of the Month" .. See, the thing is, the car that wins is supposed to be the 'favorite' car of the ENTIRE forums. That means ALL makes and models of Mazdas. It also means ALL types -- from the modded for show, go, a combination, whatever.

If we break stuff down into categories, does that mean only people with a Mazda3 can vote on the Mazda3's, and so on? How would we ever 'restrict' the polls to people with only a certain type of car? It will inevitably turn into a mess. Think about how many people and how much organization is put into actual car shows -- a LOT. There simply isn't the staff here to support such a thing.

While the idea is definitely unique, it's just doesn't strike me as feasible -- not to mention that it doesn't even fit into the concept of what this whole contest was created for in the first place.

.. If any of that actually makes sense to anyone other than me, LOL.
