I'm ordering a cold air intake tonight. which one should i get? which one do you think will make the most power? i just wanna hear my turbo spool!(breakn)

You know I am thinking about the same thing. I am more leaning towards the Injen but I do like the fact that there is a speed intake avaliable. But the price of the Injen is something that cant be beat. Plus I have heard nothing bad about the intakes (Injen). I am thinking the power #'s are going to be about the same.

I have the Mazdaspeed CAI and am very happy with it. The warranty issue is a factor as well.

Some people have posted dino runs with a 10%+ gain in power for just a CAI and I would say those are accurate by the seat of my pants. I also get better millage on the highway but with the RF problem in the city I still get 9.4L/100km.

I put a TMIC on the car after the CAI and got probably another 10% gain in power which is about the most usable power the cars can take with front wheel drive.

Consider Injen uses oiled filters and when you suck oil up to the MAF and kill it its not under warranty when they see that intake. I had K&N on a supercharged tacoma and it did this to me but luckily they replaced it under warranty.

The savings isnt that big considering warranty issues, no shield included over the filter, sub quality filter element, and no included cleaning solution.

The mazda filter is a non oil filter? So it is probably better to go with the speed cai than the injen?

Buy the injen + a seperate AEM dryflow?

Valid points though. MS CAI retains warrenty.

Buying the Injen then another $35-40 filter minus the shield ect really kills the savings so I dont see the point.

For a $50 savings at best I would rather have peace of mind knowing that Mazda cant say anything about their own part under the hood.

I installed my Fujita last week and I love it! Its pretty loud! The stock blow off valve is awesome.. I have pics posted on the "Fujita CAI installed on the mazdaspeed6".... It was very easy to install, its loud, and its way cheaper then all the rest.

i hear people saying that mazda tells them it voids their warranty to have aftermarket parts but i know that they can't void your warranty unless they can prove without a doubt that the specific part caused the damage. the part about the MAF does scare me though. that is like a $500 part. what are the odds that the oil will ruin the MAF? wouldn't INJEN cover something like that?
these are supposed to be tested and tuned intakes that shouldn't hurt anything. and i also can't see how installing it wrong would hurt anything. all you have to do is make sure its bolted on and the MAF is on. i know it might sound lame but i like that the INJEN comes in black too... and the mazdaspeed doesn't. hmm... i dont' know.

So you guys honestly think oil all the way down on the other side of the intake is going to get sucked up into the MAF and ruin it? Ive heard having a freashly oiled filter right next to the MAF may cause it to error, then you yank it out and clean it with rubbing alcohol and its fine. You obviously dont want to over oil the filter when you clean it. And honestly the splash gaurd dosent seem necessary either, what water is really going to get sucked all the way up there? Anyone had any problems with their K&N panel filters??? I havent, and I bought the Injen for $210 shipped, good deal to me...

First off the splash guard isnt for water "way up in there" it covers the top half so any water falling from top to bottom wont hit the filter element.

Secondly, yes oil will ruin your MAF and has ruined one on a supercharged tacoma I had but they replaced it thank god. So not over oiling is a art and if you over oil you will only find out one way and its going to cost you.

I would rather pay the $90 and get the MS CAI and not worry about all this or possible crap from the dealer so that savings wasnt woth that to me.

Do note that if you bring it in for a CEL and they attribute it to that intake you are going to pay labor and everything for that trip to the dealer let alone what may actually be wrong.

Just some things to consider but I did my research and phone calls before I made my choice so I have no bias opinion over which to choose just what have gathered from my phone calls.
