mazdaspeed exhaust has arrived

of course b/c he hooked it up to the stock CBE I am assuming. I think he was the one who ended up buying the CPE CBE and hooked it up to to the test pipe right???

every body has an exhuast "theory" the only thing that is believible is a fair dyno before and after , than you'll know the truth

Exhaust theory isn't something someone just pulled out of their ass... it is based on research done since the invention of the internal combustion engine. Everyone can't go out and purchase every exhaust on the market and compare hp gains on their cars...that is why you have to go on what other people claim as gains to make your choice as a consumer.

Don't think replacing the entire exhaust is necessary. Gains won't be worth it by going from 2.5" to 3". High flow cat is where it is at if you are worried about passing emissions or go catless and put the stock exhaust back in when you need to go in for testing.

i was going to buy a cat back , after saving enough money , but i think i'll just remove the 3rd and final resinator and at leat ill have 21/2 inch straingt pipe, the later on ill get a full turbo back exhuast

What are you talking about Kosh. I replaced and yes it is necessary if you want some monster power gains. Anyway, here in florida we don't have to worry about testing.

The monster power gains are coming from the high flow cat and not so much from the diameter of the exhaust. Bigger exhaust is always better for forced induction but there is a point where you won't see any more gains. With only cold air I really doubt you are pushing enough exhaust to see monster power gains from going 3"

Say you are planning on droping a bigger turbo in there then I totally see how 3" would be worth it. Hell when I'm ready to work on exhaust I'll probablly go 3" as well since I want to take my car well over the 300hp mark.

But I'll probablly start with just catless DP for immediate gains and wait until it is more profitable to go 3" down the rest of the exhaust.

Now that is something I can't do... If anything ever happens and the car need to be checked, atleast I have a high flow. MS6MIKE has the CPE straight pipe with resonator and that s*** is loud and smoky...lol And I thought I was loud...you have seen my vids...

I'm still undecied between straight pipe and high flow. Corksport DP looks pretty good to me too. 1 cat so it looks more legal than catless. But I don't know...Don't want to get one thing and want to upgrade later :(

So many parts and so little money (stooges)

the decision is easy for me. Cat. I have to have it. I have emissions testing every 2 years. I sold my GTI because it failed and didn;t want to put the money up to get it to pass. It was cheaper to take the loss.

I love the way stock sounds. I don't want a car that screams 'look at me' Trying to avoid the teenager fast and the furious honda rice association :(

Turbo 4 cyl's sound different the NA 4 Cyl's... I think these cars sound more like a WRX with a new exhaust. At least with those, i have heard. Im ordering the GHL next week but was hoping Ken was going to become a supplier for them.

So can someone take a picture of the exhausts first section? I am interested in the dp to cb joint. Basically I want to know if a CP-E DP will not leak with a MS CBE.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit up with cpe down pipe. That's also the combo that i'm looking to do in the future too.

here is the mazdaspeed exhaust. just came in today and hopefully it will be put on tomorrow. i will get some pictures of the install. looks simple with the exception of having to cut a small section out with a hacksaw.
