Thinking of getting new CBE to replace my stocker. For those who have tried the 3" MazdaSpeed CBE, does it eliminate the drone that you get from the stocker when letting go of the gas above 2k rpm or so?

I can't stand that drone. Maybe the Racing Beat CBE will do the trick if the MS CBE still has that drone...

Check out the HKS Hi-Power CBE!

your not going to be able to eliminate the come down with any sort of exhaust. Maybe with a regular 3 exhaust, but thats much to restrictive and not worth putting on your car.

Any aftermarket exhaust is going to have at least a deep tone when the revs drop. The racing beat is probably going to be just as deep and resonate as the stock one.

I don't mind a deep tone, but the drone I get from the stocker seems to hit the perfect resonant frequency that my "annoyance factor" is set at. As an example, I switched out exhaust on my previous Audi to a 3" CBE, including downpipes and hi-flow cats, and never had the drone that I experience with this exhaust. It's almost like the stock exhaust was tuned to make that drone.

I guess the word "eliminate" is too strong, I just want to done it down to switch it to a lower frequency.

I have the MS Cat Back and have no drone. Makes the car sound a lot nicer too.

that sounds like a solution. i too have been bothered by the drone. how much did the ms cbe cost including installation?
how loud is the sound under acceleration and when you let go of throttle?
i probably wouldn't mind louder sound on acceleration if it sounds good. but i hate the stock resonant drone.

I recently saw a Corksport cbe for sale below. The seller didn't like how "quiet" it was.

Yes bro, that was mine actually. It's still FOR SALE. Compared to the MSpeed CBE it's much quieter interior and out, plus the quality is unmatch for what you pay for it, and NO it doesn't drone.

That is one of the MAIN reasons that I ended up buying the CorkSport after debating and contacting all the brand vendors on feedback and just COULDN'T beat the quality and a TRUE 3" ID piped, tig welded and damn sexy tip and of course the quieter and throater sound of the CORKSPORT! woohoo. MINE is FOR SALE currently.

NAH it was the quality and value that really sold me, or besides the fact that all the guys at corksport was EXTREMELY helpful and was even willing to take me out with the company ride to hear it for myself. THAT was what pushed me over buying the GHL catback.
