MazdaSpeed 3 Smoking

Hi Guys!

Im from South Africa and recently bought a Mazda 3 MPS (Mazdaspeed 3). I noted that the car started smoking recently. As winter just about started by us i dismissed the white smoke as condensation. But today on my home i noted that after driving slow for a while, when i jump on the throttle, the car would let out a huge puff of smoke. (Oh, there is no smoking when idling or reving once the engine has warmed up but well when driving under hard boost)

Not i know the Direct Injection engines on the VW tend to smoke a touch on full throttle openings but i've never seen them smoke quite like this.

The car is a 2009 model with about 17 000km on the clock. She is dead standard! There is also no loss of power as I even manage to light up the TCS going from 2 to 3!!!

I found that some people say that it might be turbo seals or even oil. I dont know what oil the car has in as it was done by the dealer.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!!!!(boom05)

Turbo seals are definitely a concern on smoking MS3's. And just so you know, it's not "turbo seals or oil." It's turbo seals = oil. The turbo seals keep oil inside the turbo from getting into your intake or exhaust, where it burns & produces smoke.

If the car is stock & only 17k km (about 9-10k miles for us Yanks), it may not be turbo seals, but you never know. I'd definitely have it inspected under warranty.

Please let us know what the cause ultimately turns out to be.

so you get a puff of white smoke or black smoke when you go WOT ? cause a puff of black smoke is very common on turbo cars
