Mazdaspeed 3 CAI ?

I have the injen and have not had a single cel. Did you unplug your negative battery terminal before install? Did you clean your MAF before reinstalling it into the new intake? If you have a dash hawk you can clear the code, maybe you can borrow one. AP will do the same if/when you get your hands on one.

I have the Injen CAI as well and just got a CEL about a week after the install, but I didn't pull the negative terminal off the battery before install. Dunno what the code is, but I'm going to get a Cobb AP to read it and clear it because it's probably nothing, plus I'm going to want one anyway for tuning later.

. . . .
There are a lot of people who get this product while their vehicle is still under warranty. If you fully understand that this can and will void the warranty unless you have a very understanding dealer who is willing to negotiate fixing the problem after the problems occur. I would talk with several people who are experienced with cars and have successfully done this kind of modification, and if need be, be prepared to tune it depending on what your climate is like. Down in Mississippi it is going to be a very different climate in the winter than up here in Ohio.

I must respectfully disagree that the MSCAI will void your warranty. This is a genuine Mazdaspeed product and (if properly installed) will not void warranty. It is a Mazda approved accessory. If concerned about install issues, by all means have your stealer dealer do it for you.

As to cold weather operation, I agree that geographically, Ohio is north of Mississippi, lol. However, we do get subfreezing weather here and I do take this car on long interstate trips in winter. I have family in central Iowa.

I get fuel/load cut in cold weather due to my catless dp/rp exhaust. I do not get and have never gotten an intake CEL in temps down into the teens. Can't say about sub zero driving, though. Lack of an air straightener or improper alighment of the straightener can cause CEL's due to turbulence in the intake pipe as the air column crosses the MAF sensor.
