Mazdaspeed 3 CAI ?

The only reason why i want one is for the badge. Stupid maybe, but i just want to keep it in the family. Sometime i might have the mullah and grab some other mazdaspeed stuff like suspension or exhaust

I'm the same way; I like the fact the my Triumph has uprated Super III brakes and a Triumph/Sebring "Racing" exhaust.

BTW, I had ordered a MS CAI and on Thursday was at the dealer to get it installed. Turned out it was the wrong part number and wrong part. I think it ended in "30" and should have been a "29". The problem is/was on the Mazda USA website so be careful when you order to make sure you get the right one.:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

Just checked with the online dealer I order from and still no word. It's still in the approving stages. He checks at least once a week. $312 shipped from them so it's definitely a good price!

as of right now, no.. the dealers do not have the "new" CAI... I think our best bet is finding a "07" model MS CAI and adding the AEM straightener and hope nothing bad happens(dunno)

In theory, nothing bad should happen. The 09 version is the same as the previous, except it includes the air straightener and will have a new EO#.

There's one that was just put up for sale on Mazdaspeed forums. It's the re-released version w/air straightener as the owner purchased it new form a dealer in March. Won't last long as it's priced well with cleaners and all.

Milestone Mazda in Lethbridge Alberta Canada.

I just ordered one yesterday through the dealership above. It should be here within a week. No problems with the order, and the Parts manager said it is the re-release version (obviously).

I'll update if there were any problems.

Good, you took care of it yourself. My buddy had to call the DC in North Carolina to get them to confirm they were in stock and available as the EXTREMELY large Mazda dealership near us said they werent out yet. Walla, they are out and have been for some time! Same part number as the last one if I remember correctly and same price. There is really no difference other than the straightner.

I finally got around to installing mine. The installation isn't all that difficult. I had to lift the intake @0.75" to fit the bracket on to the rubber mount, but the consensus is that's a normal fit.

I got mine a couple months ago. One of the dealers here had no problems gettin it but the other 2 were clueless.

You have to make SURE they call the Distribution Center in NC. They will know the correct part number, that or silver-ectasy does. He did the running around and calling and found the part# and got the dealership near us staightened out. mazda has not done anything to announce the part to the dealerships.

Two dealers have them

confirmed one in person while getting a routine service and another dealer on the phone.

yea went to my dealer today to try to get one and he did the normal lookup (or whatever it is they do on the computer that you can't see the screen of, probably solitaire) and once again he said "pending blah blah blah.....don't know." so i told him there might be a different part number because im getting information (basically you guys) that ppl are starting to buy them again. and he said "if there was a new part number it would override what i typed in and show me that i can order one"

so my question is, can i just order one myself from this distribution center or is that just a dealer-only thing?

if anything i need to at least find out the number to this NC dist. center or what it's called so i can get this ******* thing before it's either discontinued again or they stop making them so they can focus on one for the 2010 ms3 and get it right the first time

My CAI was located from the Mazda parts depot in Olive Branch, MO.

well i see that part number is apparently the same part number that the dealer is having trouble with according to this person

From what I've been told, Mazda needs to recertify the CAI due to the addition of the air straightener. My guess is they used the 2008 EO and prematurely released a few before realizing another certification would be required. My understanding is that no parts have been changed, but the EO may get updated.

Dealers will get the following code when querying the MSCAI:
GRMS-8M-L29 QC PDNG APPRVL TBD PNOT - Pending CARB Approval
