Aaah, I thought that's what it was .. Y'know, I've always wondered about that black stuff. The texture of it just never felt right to me, and I guess I just never considered the thought that it could be TAPE. Yeesh.

Well I was able to take off the tape on the front door, and about half of the back door on the driver's side. When I get home I'll finish up the one side and take some pics.

Looks really good though so far.

2002 here - mine has painted ones and they fade like nobody's business. i've painted the driver's door twice. krylon fusion black works great and looks great.

I'm still taking off the tape on the driver's side. The B-pillar is easy, however the small strip at the top of each door is a major PITA....Hopefully I'll get done with one side today.

jersey- use a hair dryer, the tape is vinyl so you heat it up a little, it should peel up easier. Didn't know if you were doing that or not

The tape saved my paint when someone tried to pry my door open with a crow bar. Of course, it only saved the paint that was under it.

i didnt read through the entire thread, but im just gonna say this. how can you complain about the car being " cheap ", when you paid a SHITLOAD less then anything else with the quality we have in our cars. our interior owns any car in our class. our car looks a shitload better then most car's in our class. and your complaining about TAPE. please.

I dont think that black tape looks that bad. If you have tinted windows it makes it look clean. But im definitely interested in what you guys are doin. More pics please.
