Now for the truth:
RSX will probably win, but considering its so FUGLY you walk away the winner because U were smart enough to buy something that didnt scream "Im an 18 year old virgin who lives with my parents, check me out ladies!"

This is further proof that you're an idiot. If you don't like the RSX, that's your opinion & I can respect that, but crap like this is just plain stupid. There are quite a few RSXs that look as good or better than any car on here & a lot of them are faster too.

The 3 and RSX-S aren't even the same class of car....I drove a few 3's at Rev-itup and test drove 3 RSX-S's over the last few months. Sorry, but that RSX-S is just a better car. I really don't understand fam's comments either.

Considering how much you love your stang, I would think you'd know more about Ford than that.

Right, it was Yamaha, and FASTER than the V-8 sho that came out with the later generation Taurus. Also, the V-8 in the taurus was tiny.

RSX's are smooth, refined, reliable, and uh, oh yeah...BORING. I don't care how fast you make it, they don't have any friggin' character - the ones I've either driven or ridden in make me feel like I'm in an appliance. Sorry, I'll pass. Just my opinion - now, in typical forum fashion, I'm expecting flames (or flamers I should say) - go ahead, I don't care.

They typify what most Japanese cars are all about (see above adjectives), and for the most part, not to my liking.

But then again, a nice turbo setup and low et's are always a good thing - the car just wouldn't be my first choice - now to answer the original post question...no. hehe..

I thought the same thing too until I test drove an RSX-S and LOVED how refined it was. The SRT-4 was great, and would definately be worth the money, but i'm so sold on the "honda-ness" of the RSX-S.

Yeah the RSX is refined and a great car, but it not doing anything new, its just another fast honda. Thats cool and everything but I like to see something new and diffrent like the 3

I don't think that anyone is expecting Z06 speed from an $18,000 car. (16 year old forum members, excluded).... Acura is a luxury brand and Mazda is a value brand. A more appropriate comparison would be between a Honda Civic and a Mazda3. My younger brother has a Civic Si and it is nimble, but gutless. The body styling is government-issue blah..... Just my opinion, though.

I had plenty of stangs when I was 18-24, do you think I cared what they put in the 1st generation Taurus? I knew it was japanese made and I guessed mazda because of the ford partnership. My beliefs of what kind of boy drives an RSX stands to this day based on the people I see driving it vs what kind of person they show in the rsx commercial (mid 20s moving up corporate ladder). Im sorry that you think im a moron. I could care less what you think. All I did was stick up for a Mazda3 in a Mazda3 forum in a biassed comparo that was of no significance when you compare them in a straight line and thats it. I like these forums because the mazda 3 people are humble and that was a nice change from svtperformance.com where 14 second qtr miles (as was stated was possible if you put an exhaust etc on an RSX) will get you laughed at. I love my Mazda for what it is, not what i can make it to be or dream of it being, I guess its a part of getting older.

Now if we were to compare the RSX non-Type S and the Mazda 3 GT then we would have something to talk about. And yes I would take the Mazda 3 (I did). But when we add 40HP and talk about the 200HP RSX Type S I gotta take the speed. The handling felt great and it was an amazing ride. Saying that I was disappointed with the interior look and feel of the RSX and considering the large investment that a car is I do look carefully at every aspect including the interior.

Final Conclusion:

Rent an RSX and drive the hell out of it... or borrow your friends (I did)
Buy a Mazda 3 GT and enjoy the wonderful refinement and the amazing deal that this car is.

Acura is a luxury brand but leaves the luxury out of the RSX. I like the car... a lot. But luxury would imply an expensive well thought out interior. And Acura failed at this with the RSX. All other models have georgous interiors from what I have seen.

Im not doubting the acura is a fast car (compared to 4 cyl), but get an S with leather, your base price is 23,300! That my friends, is within 1700 of a rx8 (25k starting) so theres where your comparo shall start (and end rx8s are nice)
