Mazda replacing MSP HU's?

A question though, I have a CD in it that won't come out, will they be able to get it out for me, or am I gonna have to say goodbye to my CD that I really want back?
Same here, they told me they will send the radio off to kenwood, and Kenwood will supposedly send back the CD to mazda who will alert me. Sounds nice, but I doubt it will work out like that. Some Mazda guy at the dealership will get some cd from kenwood and just stare at it like "WTF is this", then probably chunk it, or keep it and jam out all day.

I can't even remember what CD it was.

well right - I wasn't meaning to infer a brand loyalty, just the sat capability.

I've looked at the alpine mp3 headunits today, but I don't particularly care for their appearance. I'll try to roll over to someplace local that carries them here today or tomorrow and see if I like them better in person.

My recommendation c/o Etronics.com Insurance gave me 300 to buy a new one. Clarion DXZ845 MC. It can store up to ~8 hrs of music ripped from original cds, into memory.

My replacement came in today. I just had it installed. FINALLY I GOT MY MUSIC BACK!

But they messed up my radio surround, so they'll be replacing that sometime soon.

The CD will be reutrned. My first head unit died with a CD in it and Kenwood sent it back to the dealer. It took forever, but I did get it back.

Seems that it would be plauged with the same problem as the stock one. I say stay away from a moving face.

have you LOOKED at stereos lately?
they ALL have moving faces

LOL

but of course, I've had no issues with that on mine, so I wasn't concerned

I used to have one in my old firebird that had a solid black face when it was turned off, but when the car was turned on it was backlit and looked really bitchin. I don't think anybody makes one like that anymore.

sony makes one that is a black face display, but it has to open up to reveal any of the controls - I liked it until I actually tried to USE it. :(

I know the one I had wasnt sony. But I know what you mean though, some of the HU's out there today are set up so retarded.

there was one at bestbuy (alpine maybe?) that had a touch-panel along the bottom for the menu selection. you just slide your finger along the bottom to move the cursor. sounds cool, but hard as heck to actually USE.

The new kenwoods have touch scroll at the bottom of the screen, its not as cool as you would think, but it works ok
