If you haven’t heard enough already about AI and Quantum in the news, it’s even entering the world of Mazda now…Mazda has partnered with a UK-based AI and Quantum startup called Secondmind. Apparently the idea here is to partner for research, development and commercial deployment of AI-driven technologies for vehicle design with a focus on high-complexity engineering solutions and virtualization in automotive development.
My personal take is, it’s all about core technologies and this seems like a smart move…Speed up development, raise efficiency and performance, reduce cost etc. That said, seems the media is making this out to be a “Quantum” story when it may be more of a “traditional” AI/Machine Learning/Optimization story. Still, why not throw Quantum in the mix as well lol…Interesting to note that this is not a Japanese startup (or even a US one) but a UK one.
On a side note, anything that might help bring back high performance models to the Mazda lineup is a positive in my book!
