2000 mazda protege DX 1.8
Ok so I have a 2000 mazda protege with about 97k miles on it. Recently, my engine fuse under my steering wheel blew. I replaced it, drove about 500ft, then it blew again. with a new fuse if will idle and never blow but when I drive 5 feet and it blows. im so fed up with it. So I guess my question is, it has to be a short somewhere right? if so what parts does that specific fuse run? I could use any help I can get.. thank you.

Not sure which fuse you are referring to. I am not aware of a specific engine fuse in the cabin fuse box.

yeah youll have to bare with me, im not too automotive savvy. but its the bottom middle fuse. i think its a 15 amp and the cover reads 'engine'

3 places to check out would be the battery, starter & alternator wiring, you may have a wire that's touching the frame or has been burned an is grounding to the frame. Might have to pull the battery out to check the pos. wire.
