Care to share any info about the models? Like what scale are they? What metal used? How detailed are they?

Possible pictures of other models produced for other clubs??

all i can say is wow - the interest for this piqued FAST :)

I still need to get a hold of this guy. The link with his pictures is currently down :(.

The metal used is pewter. I would say the detail is as good as any hot wheels car, and they are of the same scale. very sturdy. i will get pics up of some examples as soon as I can. I will email this guy tonight and call him if I dont hear back from him.

keep us updated.. i'm interested in a sunlight silver P5 diecast :)

I would buy a Blue MSP for that price. Just curoius as to which MSP they would make though. The 2003 or the 2003.5?

I deffinitly want in on this. Get me a blue MSP

I'd be interested if the price was decent and it was a quality peice.

Put me down for a Yellow P5. If you can get this rolling for a decent price, I'm sure that he will have no problem making $ on this idea.

There are alot of Mazda enthusiasts who have been waiting for a P5 or MSP model/hot wheel/whatever.

Wasn't there a thread about this same topic a year ago....i'm pretty sure it died quickly. But i'm up for an MP3 if this happens:cool:

ok so here's some new details. the process he uses is actually spin-casting, not die-casting for the nitpickers out there. believe me when i say the cars he has made that I have seen are really nice. He is really intrigued by the whole idea and truly wants to pursue it, but as with anything this good, there is a catch...

Licensing Agreements.

Most of the cars he has made have been out of production / company long since dead so his work has not required the negotiation of a licensing agreement. He is going to check in with Mazda USA and see what their terms are, so to speak, and get back to me. He wants to be sure there is enough demand for this item that its worth paying the license. He has said that many car companies are pretty strict about giving out a license, so he had some concerns there.

In short though - he really wants to do it. I'll keep you all posted as I hear it. If you want to help, keep that list growing - the more people I can show are interested, the more convinced he'll be of the actual demand for this.

i always wondered something on this....

lets say i let him use my exact car as the model, mazda still owns the rights to my car even though i own it correct?

Well technically, our cars should be out of production too, so hopefully that won't be a problem. :D
