Sounds like no benefit on a stock N/A, but im sure that if you were doing a N/A build, that the 626 manifold would be the way to go with the runners being longer.

i'm planning on doing this, a friend of mine (ghettobubba) did the VTCS removal...and i think vics too...i don't know...
he said on his p5, he did feel a difference...
i'm planning on doing this to my MSP with a junkyard mani....it makes sense for us boosted protege's to have an advantage over the stock mani...
only the dyno will finally prove everyone wrong and they'll have to accept that the best car MAZDA designed was the 626!!!

I can testify, im the one who dyno'd the before and after. Thanks Ken @ protegegarage.com for an awesome product and outstanding service. Check the link , it should be a direct shot to his website w/ the dyno results.

1) the motor has to come out for some other service
so why not do the intake while i can have easy access
2) boosting it in the future so why not cover another base
and have the intake already done
but i still think it might help a little while its N/A
