Manifold Temperature?

MspeedP5 - Do u know if your turbo mani was first coated with the Jet Hot Sterling Silver?? There basic coat is rated for 1300 degrees, and that may have been the reason for the flaking. The MC-15 coat is rated at 1700 degrees.....now if thats what u had and it still was flaking, i may have to reconsider having mine coated.

I don't have the answer to that. You could direct the question to MAMCS, who confirmed that my manifold was coated by Jethot, but with which coating I do not know.

Well I got the manifold back today and it looks great. It will probably be a few weeks yet before it gets put to use, but I am happy so far with the results as they look now.
$80 to strip and recoat, inside and out.

It's too bad they coated the mating surface of the Manifold to Turbo..

It will be harder to get a good seal.

You really think it will be a problem? I never really thought about that...
I'll have to talk to the folks at PC and see what they say.

Mine was coated (the mating surface) wththe high lustre and it sealed fine with the right gaskets...

hat brian said is true actually. They warped my manifold flange from heating it, so I had a machine shop mill it down for me...

got mine back today..came out nice...i had all the welds redone, the surface milled and ceramic coated...get it back on tomorrow..woot woot!
i wanna put a chain on it and wear it around my neck!
