I was wondering if removing your manifold plate would cause problems?

on the exhaust manfold? no. its just ugly underneath

Yeah you're better off keeping the heat shield in place. Paint it if you think it looks ugly. Just make sure it's a hi-temp paint

I was thinking of spraying them then. But some new headers are in the works.
If i install new headers, the manifold plate won't be neccesary anymore or will it?

Yeah won't bolt w/o modification...
