oh BTW... anyone who is interested, I revised the how-to with some more info and pics that will hopefully make it smoother for anyone who does this install from now on.

It can be found here:

You won't have to. Just move the core back all the way, flip that first cold side pipe around and you will be fine.

cool. im goin with the VIS(WW) bumper to rice it up a lil haha

Wooot!!! Good call... but watch what you say about the rice.:) The WW bumper is pretty much the only one that has some actual aero benefits with the way the lower lip is designed. And the side wings add 10whp.:p

I dont remember if I had to cut both sides or not. I think I had to cut alot more on one, but not so much on the other. The one that was cut the most was the drivers side. But yeah, that FMIC is as far back as its gonna go. Its sitting right up against the frame. Oh well, at least the damn thing is on there now and I'm not going to ever dismantel it. This thing will be on there until the end of time! lol

Hmmm... yea, something isn't right, but as long as you are happy with it now and it is on there then that is all that matters. I think that you possibly had the cold side pipe #1 backwards. Not trying to beat the dead horse here, but I feel very bad and fully responsible for the troubles that you guys had.:(

I made the how-to after mine was installed and I will admit it and be the first to say that they weren't nearly as clear as they needed to be. It isn't easy to make a guide when the kit is already installed and it is like a week after you did it. Also not to mention that I had tekkie, linuxracr, beau, and steven helping me so I didn't have everything fresh in my head that needed to be done.

I have now fully revised the guide, and I would appreciate it if you would look it over lara and tell me if there is anything else that you think I should add to make it easier for future installs. It wasn't until I saw the troubles that you guys were having (and pics of it) that I was able to understand what I needed to make more clear.

I have used my stock bumper cover and my WW bumper cover without cutting either one where you guys did, and I have seen the original testbed car that is a 03.5 and it wasn't cut either. The WW bumper extends further back in the foglight area than both of the stock ones, so I know that it can be done without cutting on all 3. Hopefully the new guide will make it so nobody else has any problems with this.

on the fan part, does the new fans just have wires comeing off? like if i wanted to could i cut the stock fan connector and attach it to the spal fan so that it connects to the stock connector?

It is much easier to just cut off the harness on the fan wires, cut off the stock fan harness, and then use quick disconnect couplers to make the connection. You can always solder the stock harness back on if you ever go back to stock.

just wanted to say FMIC from mental addiction was a great product for me. It did take 3 days to install because we did have to remount the core back some to avoid cutting the bumper. And it was me and my friends 1st FMIC install. But once we moved it back it went on easy enough. Every little bit of space you can move the core back helps a lot.
