and i'm impressed. even for a base model cx-7, the vehicle is pretty nice. the most noteable thing about my loaner is the exhaust note, somewhat deep and throaty. i'd like to see mazda throw a curve ball and do a mazdaspeed edition in the future and put a proper manual in it.
 
i'm pretty sure mazda debut'd a mazdaspeed version at TAS. hard to come across any hard facts bout it since its just a novelty at the moment.

that would be cool though. maybe by the time i'm ready to add another mazda to my stable they'll make it.
 
it wouldn't suprise me to see something "mazdaspeedish" done to the cx-7. there certainly is a market for the sporty suv.

Without a proper transmission, there isn't much they could do. Plus...what engine would they use? Ford no longer has controlling interest so I doubt they could just go get an Eco-Boost V6 from them.
