spicy, u and krillin were the proto cars for the magnaflow? thats awsome, are they available now and also do u know the pipe diameter? i will try to get krillin to post some pics. cool cool!

.. Well, here comes my question.
It looks like just about everyone that either has the Magnaflow catback -- props to you, Krillin and SpicyMSP, for being the prototypes!! -- has some type of non-stock downpipe.
I'm not sure what the measurements are of the stock MSP piping .. but for those that do know, will I be able to install the 3" (It IS 3" isn't it? Did we ever come to a decision on that?) Magnaflow catback on the stock piping?
Not sure if I have to buy the 'right size' downpipe first before I can actually get a 3" catback. As always, excuse my stupidity. (huh)

well, the protosport dp was around the 2.5ish and there was no problem installing it with the magnaflow exhaust. i dont think there should be a problem. does that answer your question? i'm gonna go take some pics right now and make a movie clip or something.

Most exhaust manufacturers will either have some type of adapter, or will build the flange to be the right size. As such, if you put a 3" downpipe on, buy the 3" exhaust. If you have the stock pipe, get the stock size of exhaust.

GA; that was my original question but everyone says that it should bolt up to the stock DP. my thing was i wanna get apex;s DP. But magnaflow is a big compant so i am 99.95postive that it will bolt up no prob. LEts get on this! Pics

.. I'd really like to go with the 3" catback, and I'm sure that if the fit isn't quite precise, there's always some type of adaptor out there I can use until I can afford a downpipe!
Oh, and Krillin .. if you need somewhere to host the pics, I have a silly Geocities account I could upload them to, if you want to email them to me first. And then I can just post the addies -- I don't think Geocities allows you to 'directly' load images hosted on their sites to message boards and forums. Because they're assholes. But I could still post the links and do it that way, if we're left with no other option.

spicy or krillin, so the piping size IS 2.5"....or did i misunderstand something?

The piping is the same size as the stock piping back until the rear wheels. I did Krillin's DP install.

so it's less than 2.25"??? damn that's small....do you remember what the size is after the rear wheels?

No. The welded the exhaust onto the stock exhaust piping at the wheels. It looked close to stock. It's still a prototype though. Hopefully they'll do something different with SpicyMSP's car.
k ladies here are the pics+vids. sorry bout the pics. i couldn't get underneath the car and i kept hitting my head so i was only able to get pics of the tip and the side of the muffler. hopefully the vids will make up for it.

hmm so what diameter is the exhasut? also krillin, is it loud during normal drivin or just at WOT? did u feel any gains, i know its the butt dyno just asking?

So what IS the size of the Magnaflow catback? Straight up, flat out, bottom line .. Is it 2.25", 2.5", or 3"?
And if the Magnaflow catback is still in the 'prototype' stage .. how can people be selling it online at these other websites? I don't understand that. If the product isn't finalized, if no one seems to even know what the SIZE of the catback is, how can people be trying to sell it??
I don't want to drop $400 until I know what size the Magnaflow catback is, and if I can get it to fit onto my MSP stock piping -- as in, NO downpipe other than the stock stuff -- without having to do a bunch of welding .. so that, down the line, when I DO get a downpipe I can still use the Magnaflow catback without having to chop it apart.
I dunno, doesn't seem like we're getting any direct answers.
But excellent pics and videos!! I love the way it looks, and I love the way it sounds. That's why I'm so eager to figure all this s*** out. I want one!
