MAF relocation?

wait, a girl that knows what a maf sensor is?? wt...f... lol

thats cool you know about cars!

You will stall b/c the air has been accounted for and the PCM will set more fuel in... well, actually if you take air out, you should also take the corresponding fuel out, since you can't do that (unless using a different fuel management), there will be too much fuel...

I think the safest option would be to use the Perrin intake. It's the shortest intake out there and it has been well tested... at least they did R&D on it.

I'd wait until they fix the stalling issues with that intake, IMO. There are still people stalling recirculating.

Probably b/c it's a little too short...

you wanna see short? jsut wait till you see the intake on the MAM thumper kit, though mine is designed to use a MAP sensor, so no MAF for me! :D

if you get rid of the maf, i suggest running a filter straight onto the turbo...or even just a screen that blocks s***...i might do this myself someday here..

ok i have another question!! how come sometimes when i see in magazines, some people who have turbos, dont have any kind of intake on it? is it because theyre bigger turbos or something?

That is generally just a track or show setup and they use either a blow-thru MAF or a MAP to run it. You don't want to run around like that on the street with an open compressor inlet.;)

when i get my standalone in hopefuly i can get rid of the MAF, and will be running open compressor(no intake)...the turbo spools up alot faster this way..

yes, don't go driving around town without at least a filter on the turbo, never know what could get sucked in, water, dirt, a bird...

a small pipe is required just because of the room available, the inlet to the turbo (the velovity stack) is like 4 inches in diameter, and you have to place the filter to the dirvers side of the radiator, and the Spal fan because there just isn't enough room.

put a screen over the compressor housing inlet...just don't go driving through water puddles! even then the water shouldn't hurt it...but dirt and s*** like that might, but do you rally race? if not you should be safe :D

well for show purposes and for all out ball to the wall racing the filter will probably be off, but for everyday driving I'll use the filter and small pipe.
