hey Im planing of getting set of lug nuts but i dont know what size i need 12x1.5mm or 12x1.25mm I have after market rims with 38 mm offset Ive got lugs with them but I dont know what size they are(bike)

s*** I just bought lugs, but I forget the size already... Pretty sure they're 12x1.5mm. All that varies with lugs is the thread, though. Unscrew one of your lugs and try one of your new ones on the stud. If it threads on easily, you're golden.

*edit: ...as long as the taper is correct, that is. Compare the lug taper to that on the new wheels to make sure they'll match, too.

McGard lugs and locks. Sure they cost a bit more, but they're the only things keeping your wheels on the hub. I've went cheap on lug nuts before and won't again.

what happened to your cheap lug nuts?

i've had a couple cheap ones get the threads crapped up, but nothing that would even come close to putting me in danger.

Numerous, including stripping OEM wheel studs (despite carefully torquing), unseating themselves, rusting, etc.

I love the McGards because they have swivel seats that don't eat into the wheel when torquing. I check my lugs regularly and have never needed to retighten McGard lugs (can't say the same for the cheapies).

Just Google them and pick the lowest price. I think I bought my last set on Amazon.com or JC Whitney.

thx
any recomendations??
wisnia you need the blue Works lug nuts. nothing else will do. haha, when I have enough cash to play with I will get the blue which is nice with my bronze Tenzo's. I have the gorilla's black lugs on now. when i get alot of over time hours in I hope to also have Works wheels on my speed3

I have black BLOX forged lugs, like a lot of the forged lugs out. they have faded a little to a dark dark gunmetal color but on my royal bronze wheels they look goooood =] havent had a problem with them at all other than that yet. a little pricey but well worth it.

I just ordered a set of the Muteki 12x1.5 closed end lugs in Chrome. I'll let you know how they work out!

I've used Muteki closed ended for years. For the price they're hard to beat. I've never had a problem. Just torque them to 85 ft lbs and your gold.

Yes, mine have held up just fine and look very respectable imo holding on my Tenzos on, but they are not as cool as wisnias purple lug nuts. i will get something more noticable at some point. Did you get a tire/wheel package?
