Well yeah my LSD failed and I upgraded my car... Just got past the break in period yesterday and I fell in love with my car all over again. It feels like a totally different car, a lot more solid and stable. All I have to say is thanks Mazda for using a crappy LSD lol ..

Stock Clutch -47k miles

So yeah in case you are wondering I ended up going with a Spec Stage 3 Clutch, AWR F/R motor mounts, Quaife LSD, CS SS Clutch line, and all synthetic fluids.......... All I have to say is. man this thing pulls harder at stock boost then it was at 10psi b4....At 10psi its scary, no more torque steer it just goes. (rockon)

lol thanks .......i haven't tried...and i didn't really launch b4..the LSD broke when I was just cruisin on my way to the store..... I am kinda thinking it might have had something to do with the big pothole that I hit on that side the night before...oh well lol

yeah, maybe... does it feel any different (the lsd)? I know the clutch will hold way better, and the clutch line will make it snappier, but what about grip?

the grip is awesome...around corners its more stable and feels like its stuck to the ground ...and like i said before the torque steer is almost totally gone which is worth it i guess ....

haha yeah im a girl lol ...............it wasn't under warrenty b.c i have a unichip, fmic, intake, mbc, a bunch of other stuff and 47k miles lol .............all in all with parts, labor , and overnight shipping on everything it cost me around $2350.

i just meant parts... but yea im think ing no lsd for me then hah i do want that clutch though.

well i got my LSD for like half price from Tri-Point Engineering...It was installed in one of their back up trannies for the world challenge cars before they switched to the modified rx7 lsd... I paid 750 for the LSD and bolts, normal price is 1550 lol....the clutch was 359 before shipping, motor mounts were 140, clutch line 20 and fluids were another 50 or so .oh and another 300 in parts that had to come from mazda like seals, bearings and little stuff that got taken out when the lsd broke...........So for just parts the total was around $1550 the rest was labor and shipping ..

Don't suppose they have another one of those LSD's laying around do they? If so I call dibs, lol. So I guess the question is, would the quaife be worth it if you had to pay full price. In your opinion of course.

Sorry to hear about the break down, but it does seem like with stuff like this, you never replace it until you have to.

in all honestly ...i would probably pay full price if i had the money laying around ...i haven't really pushed the car to much and the traction difference is very noticible.......even my service manager drove it and begged me to bring it back for him to check out when its been broken in a little more ...he agreed that it felt stronger at stock boost then it did at 10psi b4...

as far as tri-point having more of them around... I'm not sure but give them a call... 818-348-5385 and ask for mark.

your car feels faster by changing drivetrain parts?

I'm also intrested in this? Why would this be? Does it just feel faster b/c everything is more stiff and solid? I cant belive there would be some massive difference in the drivetrain loss, etc.

its because with the motor mounts you arn't losing power to twist the engine before the power gets to the wheels...the clutch helps grab better helping reaction time and sloppyness....the limited slip gets rid of wheel spin almost totally, and you dont waste power with torque steer...it feels more stable and solid and it doesn't make more power but it puts it down to the ground a lot easier and faster...its not massive but it is enough to notice, and im not the only one who noticed it ...my friend drove it and he about crapped his pants when i told him it was stock boost.

oh yeah i also have a different final drive gear ratio. not sure by how much but it would also play a part in it.

ya know what, i just swapped in solid mounts and I can feel the difference, the car grips much better in first gear and the 1-2 shift is like gold. And since she put in a new clutch and lsd, I am sure she is noticing a nice performance increase now that the power is being handled properly.

yeah the mounts definantly help a lot ...i am very happy that i put them in while the car was torn apart...and that i didn't have to do the rear one..yay lol
