lowering springs

I have a 05 mazda 3 with 18x8 offset 40 with235/40/18 and I was wondering how low I could drop my car with no tire rubbing, where to look for a good buy, and who I get to install them. Any help would be great!

no spring should be an issue. Coilovers could pose a problem if you maxed out. Id stick with eibach or h&r for springs though. Its a great thing you are doing. Go low, go slow!

I got eibach prokit running 225/40/18 and rarely ever rub, usually only with 4 people in the car with a big bump

I am on Eibach Sportslines for a 2007 Mazda 3 sedan. I got about a 2"+ drop out of them. When I load her up the wheels are tucked about an inch. Im runnning stock size wheels and tires. No rubbing at all. But it doesnt make it over deers so well.

Oh and coilovers are a bit expensive. But it allows you to constantly adjust your cars ride height and damping to find the perfect setting for you instead of a one ride fits all like springs. Either way, if you pay to get these things installed expect to pay a decent amount. Upward of $400+ for an install.

The only problem with that is I'm running with 18s with the tires they run the same size as the stock tires but id rather be safe then sorry. I kinda wanna go down 1 1/2" or 2"

You should be totally fine. and after inspecting the wheel well, you shouldn have to roll your fenders, only the liner would be an issue. Which means you should only have to roll the plastic liner.

^^wow, thats sad then. How many miles are on his stock struts/shocks? I am sitting pretty low on 18x7.5 225/40/18s and I dont rub. My wheels are even tucked about a half inch.

He's on Bilstein struts and they're in good condition. I think in his case, it's the 225 tire. He wasn't rubbing when he had 215's on em.
