Lowering Springs!

I am thinking about putting some different springs on my MSP to drop it a little. Is it going to affect the camber if I just switch out the springs? Just some general advice on dropping my ride would be nice. Thanks

It doesn't look like anyone is going to post, and since I don't know hardly anything about suspension, the only thing I can tell you is to search the archives for a similar thread.

unless you're planning to go with something like coilsleeves, just changing your springs shouldn't cause you problems with not being able to set your camber right, at least to my knowledge. Thats not to say changing out the springs won't AFFECT your camber, you should always get an alignment after stuff like that for the best ride, handling, and tire wear, however it shouldn't cause any problems to the point where you can't get the car back to spec.

yea im lookin at springs for my car too.... Im def. gonna buy some from protegegarage but not sure which ones yet.... any input would be nice.

i just got a set of TEIN S-tech springs...will install this weekend...ill post before and after pics...i hear great things about em..

Just put my Eibach Pro-Kit's on about a week and a half ago. The ride is a bit stiffer but the handling difference is definately noticiable. Not to extreme of a drop which is nice and its only got a little bit of a rake. I had to get an alignment afterwards and the dealership couldn't get it perfect but got it damn close. Of course they also broke my front windsplitter in the process because the car was to low to get off of the alignment machin, lol.

just put on my tein's...drop is definitely noticeable and ride is nice...worth every penny

I have sprint springs on my MSP, not too bad of a ride, little bouncy but the drop is real nice. The rear wheels just tuck under the fender and the front has 0 gap. It's a 2" all around drop on the Pro, so figure for the MSP it's 1.3" all around with progressive rates. In terms of alignment, the shop I had do it was able to get the toe in/out to be perfect but the camber is still slightly off. Not enough to cause problems as they got real close to spec but not perfect. Look at it like this, unless you're going for a full coil-over setup your probably dropping the car for appearance reasons. If that's what's motivating the change then don't worry so much about being slightly off in the camber as you won't notice the difference when you're driving.

you can get the camber perfect on a 2" drop. I'm at -1 on all corners. Lowering the car won't mess up the rear camber, as we have a twin trapezoidal multilink rear suspension (TTL), but the toe will be way off due to that same reason. It's passive rear steering built into the suspension geometry, and sadly when lowered the effect is diminished since there is less suspension travel available.

I have a set of Tein S techs that I am considering selling, they are not on the car and had less than 2K when taken off, they were not on my car but were my payment for taking them off another member's car who needed to return to stock height because of where he lived. If anybody has interest just shoot me a PM and I can get you picks and we can discuss $.

m car came with tien springs already but the thing is it looks nice but the back still looks to high! anyone tien springs that the back is barely above the rim. i plan to sell them. they are great and i just want the back lowerd more... ill put pics of the ride.
