How many of you had to buy new Endlinks when putting a lowering kit on? I was told that I might need to buy new endlinks?

i know with my regular protege, when i lowered it, i bought new endlinks just so i didnt not have to deal with getting the old ones off. they are a pain in the assssss.

i installed the racing beat rear sway bar also, and i had to buy MSP endlinks, which are longer than my stock lx links. so the bar would sit properly when car is on ground.

yea thats the reason i was told to get them cause they are a PITA to get off

def. get new ones from onlinemazdaparts.com i think it is. or BAGMAN1 i think hs username is. cheaper.

i had to buy front from a dealer near me the day i was doing it because i thought i could get them off, but failed.

spent 99 bucks for 2 endlinks and 4 bolts. lol o, i got a reach around from the mazda parts guy for that price too.lol

All of mine came right off with a pipe and a 1/2 drive ratchet, except one I stripped using a box wrench (mistake). The only thing I had to replace was the nut.

Probably depends a lot upon condition of the endlinks you have & how low & which sway bar or strut combo you plan on running. Mine were clean, only lowered 1.3 using tokicos & progress sway bar so mine are still original.

mine came off no problem. no sign of corrosion of any kind on the bolt. but i do live in socal, so that may have to do with it. a lot of people that i've seen cut them off live where it has more than one season.

You can save the rear links by taking both struts off at the same time, along with the sway bar. Thereby negating the need to remove the links from the struts.

hmm, i have to ponder about this for awhile, id like to just use the ones i got due to cash flow, but id also like to do things right and buy new ones, im using stock struts with a eibach prokit so yea???

Stock links should work fine as long as it's not dropped to the ground..

ok, i think im going to try to use the stock ones, hopefully me and the person helping can do it without damaging them. any tricks to getting them off witout harm??

WD-40

but be prepared to buy new ones if they break. They are not really meant to be reused. The local mazda shop gave up on reused links, They just cut them and puts new ones right away.

are they something i would have to order if they broke or just go to the mazda dealer and ask for them and they should have them? i dont wanna mess them up, then have to wait 2 months for them, this is my daily driver

Should have them,

You can drive without them but you will have to adjust how you drive.

Body roll is a bit more pronounced.

They will not be more than 24 Hours to get if they are not in stock.

if you have an impact wrench, itll be a piece o cake. i used one on my first spring/strut install and it wasnt too bad. the other two that i have done, i did it by hand and both times messed up the nut for an endlink.

I brought new ones when I did mine. My front left was a PITA, so I cut it, front right came right off. The rear, I took off the shocks and sway bar as one unit, you just have to make sure your car is up high enough to get it out as one. I would definitely have new ones on hand when you do if for nothing piece of mind. Its only and extra $10, just do it.
