are the springs the only thing you need to lower it and is their a video on how to install the springs.

The springs are made by FK Automotive, i bought them at their webshop for a ridiculous price (two weeks ago there was a 81% discount, now it seems to be 66% discount :D).

The wheels are actually the 16" stock rims for an 'Executive' edition, i think it's called a TS+ in the USA :)

Make sure you post some photo's when they are installed! :D

A common rule is that you don't need new shocks if you don't lower your car more than 40mm, if you go over 40mm you'll need different shocks to absorb the extra stiffness of the springs.

In my case the new springs lowered the car by exactly 35mm so it was the only thing i needed to get the M2 'down low' :D I do a lot of work on the car myself, but i had the springs installed by our local garage because i don't want to mess something up with the suspension of the car :) So i don't have instructions or installation pics because i wasn't there when they were installed.

I do know that it can be quite dangerous if you do it yourself, you don't want to find yourself laying under the car when a jackstand falls over or when a compressed spring breaks loose (eek)

The total cost of the springs and installation were around $200 (or 160 ;)), so i didn't want to take the risk of installing them myself :)

ok cool thanks i most likely wasnt going to do it myself i was just curious. i feel the same way, scared that i would mess something up in the process.

Negative. Unfortunately, MazdaUSA doesn't offer a model with the 16" option. We have the "sport" model with the steelies and covers, and we have the "touring" model with 15" alloy wheels. I believe they have the TS up in Canada though.

Didn't know that :) Stupid actually, because they look great on an M2 (eek)

I agree on both counts. What's more frustrating... You can't even order them in the states. Literally completely unavailable through Mazda in the States.

(unamused) I get is that you guys need the orange parts in the headlights and all, but it's not that hard to ship some 16" alloys to the USA right? (unamused)

i think mazda thinks if the usa got all those specialty items to make it look better it would start to invade on their top seller (the 3)...the 2 doesnt yield much profit.

Mazda is actually bleeding out money because the yen is so high right now despite good sales, they are desperately looking for financing to build their mexico and other plants off japan plants to keep costs down...off subject i know ;-)

I'm not really sure what the thinking is behind the decision... It's even hard to get a non-USA dealer to ship the wheels state-side.

The "easiest" way to get them would be to get another forum member to buy and ship them to you... And it's hardly worth the cost.

And as far as the orange reflector situation... We don't even need the reflector to be IN the headlight. They could have made the side-marker reflective orange instead of clear and would have been able to keep the headlights the same as every other country.

We have the 16inch wheels here in the UK on our sport 1.5's and tamura which is a 1.3 but with all the sport body kit etca,d also we have the 16TD sport with all the goodies aswell lol

Nice to see someone else found the 81% offer.
Got mine on yesterday, hope you're as happy as I am (breakn)

Wasn't sure if I was buying them in bulk for 3000 or one set for 30.00 but glad it worked out (stash)
Love the corners even more now.
