Looking to replace stock MSP tires

What about those Fuzion tire. I think they are similair to the stock and cheap.

thats what i'm using. they're much better in the rain, but the side wall is a lot softer. for the money they are pretty good.
my biggest complaint is the sizing. if you want the stock sidewall look, get the 215/40/17 not the 45... they're much bigger than the stock potenzas

I have the ZRI's as well.. 45 rated.. they do look like 50-55... And Agreed with the handling.. much improved in bad conditions, no real change in dry conditions though. definitely worth the 65 I paid per tire.

i as well threw on a set of the fuzion ZRi's just yesterday...i purchased the 215/40's and i can post pics if you want em cause i have stockers on the rear till next week when the other 2 come in...i love em thus far they hold like no other...at least for the price amazing treadwear rating its a 380 or so compared to the 140 of the stockers...just my 2 cents...-dan

Yeah, post some pics...especially a profile of the whole car so we can compare the 2 different tires!

just had fuzions put on mine. quite pleased with them though the dry grip has gone down a bit i feel. the tires break loose at the top of first. still for the price, can't complain at all. dunno about wet conditions yet but anything has to be better than the stock potenzas....that was scary.

If you go with the Falkens post back with what you think of them. I need to decide on a tire for next year. Personally I love everything about the Potenzas except for the treadwear and the price. I've used them for auto-x and was very satisfied every time except for 1 cold day in October. The cold temps makes the RE040s slicker than s***.

I think thats the problem for auto-x for me... so far three events here this year. 1st event daytime high of about 40 F 2nd event cancelled because the lot was covered in ice from the blizzard that went through the night before and 3rd event daytime highs of about 45F

I am putting a set of R's together for auto-x, so hopefully when the June 12th race comes I will be set up, if not, I will pray for hot weather so that my RE040's will be sticky not greasy.

I need to replace my Potenza RE750's too (actually two good - two bad). Costco has them for $124 ea....

BUT I want to set the car up for my wife and newbie, who is on the way (it's a great little station wagon that she likes to drive). So I'd like to mellow out the ride a little bit without sacrificing too much performance.

Any suggestions for a good handling tire that is more quiet than the Bridgestone Potenza?.

I'm thinking a little higher profile, 60 series. Any feedback if 60/16's will fit with no clearance problem?

How's the Toyo Proxes for road noise?

Thanks
JB

I like the Nitto Neo Gens.. They look great and are pretty good as far as performance..You can get them for $98each..

anyone know much about the bf goodrich g-force sport? (not the KD's or KDW's)

Anyone try the KDW-2's. Looks like from tire rack ratings they kick arse.

at nopi in atlanta last year (and the year before) BFG had a try it out thing where they setup an autocross course basically. i tore the crap out of some in an STI... they're pretty sweet. i would have gotten those, but at the time i couldnt afford another $100ish

Yokohama AVS ES100s are way better than the stock re040s, and for $100.00 YOU CAN'T GO WRONG

I thought the the stock tires handled pretty well, but that was until i bought the es100s. The es100s handle like you are on rails, and you feel more connected to the road.

I know this is going to sound hard to believe, but with the es100s the mazdapeed handles way better than stock. I thought it handled before, but it doesn't even compare.

just my 2 cents

hey guys, I just saw that you guys were talkin about the rt-615 Falkens. Well, I got them and they grip like no other tire.... well, i would compare them to a eagle f-1 gsd3, which was my previous tire. they seem to grip really good in rain or shine. I am still waitin on the 215/45/17 but for right now i've been rolling 215/40/17, which is the only size close enough to our stock. (boom01)

i have kdw2 tires, they are excellant in the corners, at the track/street, once you heat them up their nice and sticky, other wise they arent that good as excpected, i only chose these for the treadlife compared to the falken rt-615s, cause im getting wheels/tires for the track
