Looking for DVD Ripping Software

I am looking for a DVD ripping program that will rip encoded DVD's. I plan to put them on my Home Theater PC. Space is not an issue (It has two 750GB hard drives) so I want the best video quality.

I have found software that rips them to an ISO image, but that is pain. I don't want to have to go through a ton of steps.... Just insert DVD, press "copy" and rip it to the hard drive. Ive got an extensive collection to back up, so I want to make it as painless as possible.

Thanks!

PowerISO, which doesn't just rip to ISO's. It will rip to the actual DVD files.

Slysoft Any DVD (to unlock the DVD) and Elaborite Bytes Clone DVD (to copy the files)

You can usually find both as a torrent package.

Slysoft Any DVD is a must and then it doesn't matter what program you used to burn but I agree with Protege2886 because the Clone DVD is simple to use.

Didn't they stop making that so you can no longer get updates? I've persoanlly have tested AnyDVD vs DVD Decrpter and AnyDVD wont by a long shot. Their were to many DVD's I couldn't burn with it that I could burn with AnyDVD.

the version that i have works pretty good and any movies that i cant burn i can usually use ripit4me and it helps with getting around the copy protection that stops you from ripping the movie to your computer
yeah plus its free

Step 1:
Rip them as isos (best quality)

Step 2:
and use daemon tools to simulate a DVD rom with the ISO.

Step 3:
????

Step 4:
Profit/Watch the DVD

Step 1.B
If you get an errors about the dvd being encrypted when creating the iso. All you have to do is start watching the movie on you computer before you run the iso creater. Once the iso creater is running just stop the movie.

Ok, I'm looking at Nero 8 and MagicDvdRipper. From what i read about Nero is that you get alot of stuff besides just copying movies. My main question is how is the quality after you convert? I mean is the sound still clear? How about the color? Is it still as sharp as the original?

MagicDvdRipper: It just has the basic things you need to copy. They also mention that you get great quality on the copy. Between these two which would you prefer?

I just set up my HTPC and so far i love it! now just got to wait for Black Friday to get a deal on some hard drives.

i use a very simply process...

1. insert dvd and start anydvd.
2. open dvd shrink and analyze the file. Select re-author and only select main movie file.
3. copy dvd to vob format for optional re-burning capability.
4. open up my dvd collection management tool and automatically add all actors, director, covers, and other information.
5. watch movie with media center.
6. enjoy!

well only 2-3 steps and only takes usually about 10-12 min.

on a side note i still yet have to purchase anydvd...i only have a few days left of my free trial

i use dvd shrink and if that doesnt work i use magic dvd ripper, thats for copies though. If i really want quality, i would just buy the dvd. If you want AVI's i guess magic dvd ripper would be fine.

Well i got the Nero 8 today. For the guys that are familiar with Nero can you please tell me how do work this damn thing.
I've tried and tried to burn but everytime it keeps telling me that the movies are still copywrighted. I was under the impression that it could burn anything
