Looking for a miata

Im looking for a miata. what year should i get? i want the 1.8... any known problems and what should i look for in one of these cars. it will be a weekend/fun car with plans of supercharging.

you want the 94 and up because they come with the 1.8 BP found in the early proteges. 94-95 I believe was still OBD-I and then from then it became OBD-II.

but you can still have fun with the 1.6 B6 like me and can get a Jackson racing supercharger which is CARB legal in CA ftw

what kinda power are you putting down and at what psi? thanks by the way

im not boosted yet, trust me the miata is plenty fast in the twistys just being N/A. I believe the JRSC puts down 145rwhp with the M45 setup on the 1.6


the best supercharger though is the MP62 that sits on the coldside (Intake mani) of the engine. you will outgrow the power of the M45 fast and be looking to go turbo or MP62 fast. dont waste your money do it right the first time.
