I hope no one is offended that I started this but I read the thread before and had a response and it also it seemed like there were people interesested in this topic and you could learn something. If you have oppostion on the matter please bring it to the flamewears and start your own thread. Because info is valuable and that is the privelage. So this is my response.
Its been a while since I dealt with radiator caps. From what I remember a radiator cap alone probally wont do much alone if anything at all. When you get a lower thermostat like everyone else said yes it opens sooner or stays open longer I believe cant remember, but it doesnt allow the water to stay in as longer so it doesnt allow to absorb as much heat where the higher pressure of the radiator cap helps it out. So with the cap and thermostat you would probally lower the temp a little. I believe usually caps are matched for thermostats (but might be wrong on that).I am a little ruff around the edges since it has been a while since dealing with this subject.
Also LinuxRacr was wondering if you noticed any changes in temp and if you got a low temp thermostat.
