does anyone know where i could find a cheap and light weight set of wheels without tires? i need 16's but 17's would work if there light enough....also does anyone know the stock wheel weight for the 16's? thanks.

Welcome to the club!(drinks)

The stock P5 wheels weigh 16 pounds and the stock Dunlops weigh 20. 36lbs per corner. :)

Rotas are a good choice. :)

cheap and light weight dont go. cheap and heavy yes, expensive and light yes.

the lightest wheel you can get in 16x7 is racing hart CP-035. only 10.8lbs or something very close to that.

Wheelmax is crap. Don't order anything from them. Granted, their prices are awesome on the ads and the site, but then they tack on additional prices/fees/etc. that aren't advertised, and they don't negotiate them at all. (make u pay for mounting/balancing and lugs).

I went ahead and paid it thinkin oh well it needs to be done.

Wheels came. No lugs. Lugs finally arrived. They weren't even tuner lugs like they were supposed to be. Only one of the wheels was balanced. One other had the weights in the box (they fell OFF the wheel in transit), and the other two wheels never had a single weight on them. As such, not only did I have to pay THEM to mount/balance and for lugs, I had to turn around and pay a local tire shop to rebalance them AND buy lugs from them. Total BS.

During the whole process, customer service lied to me about the supposed arrival date of the wheels. I called probably 8 times trying to get a legitimate shipping/arrival date for them, and was told each time (8 times over the course of 8 business days) that the wheels "shipped out yesterday, you should have them by ...."

All lies. The wheels took a week and a half longer than they said they would and I lost a lot of time away from work due to false information they fed me about arrival times. THe clincher that kills me about it all was their very STRICT refusal to give me a tracking number (they came via UPS) so I could know when the wheels were destined to arrive.

All in all a horrible experience and definitely worth the extra $$$ to go to a more reputable company than have to put up with all that BS.

Sidenote: I sold the accord I had those wheels on. If anybody wants them I'll sell them for 450 plus shipping. Zeo 18" black wheels with 415/40 zr18s. very very low mileage on the tires since I got my P5 about 2 months after I got the rims. Email me if interested... lol

Konig Holes 17X7 are 16.1 pounds.
Stock rims are just over 16 pounds.

MazdaVK5, +40mm offset will not be a good fit. For sure you'll get some rub. You will need at least +45mm offset.

Sounds like my experience with victoriatire.com. Never again. Even though they reimbursed me for getting them rebalanced, they still suck. The sales manager even hung up on me several times because he just didn't want to deal with the issues.

That's good to know. I suppose I'm only going to deal with local shops when it comes to more expensive parts like wheels and major engine components from now on. You would think that, with as much as these things cost, customer service would be more insistent on making the customer happy with their purchase, not treat them like 2nd class citizens...

and if anyone is looking for lightweight race wheels im selling 7 of my old ones..

they are 15" 1996 mazda 626 wheels...

they weigh 12.6 lbs each wheel..

where are you getting superleggara 15s in a protege fitment!?!? I would love that for the winter, but spending a ton on winter rims *is* kinda pointless.

im probably going to run spacers anyways.. b/c my race tires are going to be 245's
