I was amazed when I saw this myself. Talk about taking the fear out of parallel parking. Heck, you can grab all your belongings while the car is parking and when it's done, just hop out...lol

Heres a short clip of Lexus self parking system moving the big LS 460L into a tight spot. The system works by monitoring 10 sonar detectors positioned front and back. The car then takes control of the wheel steering eerily as if a ghost is doing all the work. To avoid any liability, Lexus has left the responsibility of the brakes with the driver.

read about this in my autoweek... sounds pretty nuts...i am sure it will help keep a lot of women from rubbin bumpers... no offense ladies but i remember reading somewhere that its due to better depth perception in men...??

And soon enough, nobody will know how to drive at all...

Cool feature though, something I'd like to see first hand if possible. :)

^^ you'd be surprised, for a lot of people it is. remember, we're all car enthusiasts, we're not by any means normal :P

the JDM 2nd gen prius was probably the first toyota to do that though.... but you had to stay inside the car to put it in reverse and other s***
