Yeah, that'll happen, Ryan. haha

I think I'm just getting into my "too much research" groove again. I just need to order everything and get to work.

Miata plus cash? ;)

Oh and I need to re-read your thread, plus start hanging out on probetalk et al. I guess I will start planning this silly swap.

Got my Perrin used short shifter yesterday. I'll put that in this weekend.

Also ordered a bunch of parts for the battery relocation. Was hoping to have them here by the weekend but not so much. But there's always more stuff to work on. :)

I didn't get much done this weekend because I was lazy and I was going to install the Braille battery mount but it just looked so out of place as brushed aluminum. So I held off and brought it in to work today for a couple coats of spray paint. I'm letting it dry in my office and TWO of my co-workers came in, saw it went over and touched it while hanging. Come on! I have a can of spray paint on my desk and a part hanging in the corner, yes it's wet! Oy vey. hahaha...

Spray them... IN THE FACE!

That or caution tape... If putting a rabid dog in your office to guard it worked, i would suggest that. Looks prettyful :) I think i'll touch it...

Dude....why do people have to touch stufff!!!???

I remember painting that little blue chopper (rattlecan ftw!) and after laying down the 3rd layer of clear, one of my (used to be) buddies just HAD to touch it....left a nice impression of a fingerprint in the clear.

I'd cut off fingers if it happened again.....starting with a thumb.....

Ironically we have 3 dogs in the shop (the owners bring them in during work hours) but they are all bark and no bite. Scares the hell outta new UPS/FedEx Drivers though.

No biggie, it was dry enough the fingerprints didn't show up. I got my super delux ricer distribution block in yesterday (complete with voltmeter! haha) so I'll get to work on mounting the battery, running the cables and mounting everything up. And I got my quarterly bonus today. Woo-hoo!

what happened to your kartboy?

I sold the Kartboy a while ago since the black P5 has an OBX short shifter and the lever was longer. The Kartboy was a little to short for my liking. The OBX felt good but honestly, I don't trust the brand for a short shifter. This Perrin came up for sale used on here so I scooped it up.

The OBX is fighting me coming out though. I removed the snap ring and gave it a couple quick tugs but it's almost seized in there. I've done a couple short shifters but they've all came out pretty easily. I'm perplexed.

the obx is like the b&m iirc.. it's a ******* b**** to get out. you'll have to push on it from underneath the car..

Thanks for the tip, Damian. I figured it would need some convincing since it's been in there a couple years too. That's why I asked the seller to include all the internals in case I broke something. I'll give it a try this weekend. It should be nice out and I've got a lot to work on.

Here's a couple depressing pics from last night. I've got to get re-organized badly.

That is just a test fit right? Your plan is to take the engine back out. Will you be done before the snow flies or just wait until spring? Not bustin your balls Evan, I'm just curious. It just looks so close with the engine in the bay, but I'm sure there is a lot to do yet.

Honestly, probably not until spring. I have to pull the motor out again to add all my gauge wiring and power cables and get everything cleaned up. I'm in no rush. :)
