Agreed! I think Motors of Mayhem is my last one! Hell, it is easier to park all of our cars on the driveway, drink beer, have some food and look at my cars, I have the same thing going on. I am also planning on cutting back on the number of forums and FB pages, as it is the same ol' shizznit no matter who's page it is!

Maybe it is time to retire or senility has set in....who knows at this point!

"Real" car shows are still pretty fun. You know, the ones with unique, rare, and/or expensive cars (e.g. most Carlisle events). I used to take my Protege to car shows, park in the way back, and hang out with the older guys with classics. Most of them have some pretty neat stories and I find the whole swap meet idea pretty fascinating.

Ah this is so true! I frequented them when I was in college and photography was my main hobby.

I gotta tell ya, the more I get into auto-x and track days, the less I want to go to these hard parking meets. They are boring as s***. It's nice to hang out with friends while there, but that's about it. One quick lap around the parking lot and I've seen all the VW's and Honda's I need for a couple months, I get bored and leave 10 mins later.

I'm turning into an even bigger elitist and douche.

Maybe it's because of your elitistism but you're the only one that's really pulled of gold rpf1's on something other than a blue car.

I'm with you on the FB pages, every other post is "Let the Hate Begin!" or "Dumb Question...I'm a noob and can't google" and butt hurt ensues.

Had a ton of fun at PittRace with the Mazda crew yesterday. Those Steel Cities SCCA guys do not eff around in the SM class though. Everyone was on R-comps and had pretty epic builds. I think they were all a good 4 seconds faster than me. But I still had a blast and Fatty did pretty well out there. I'll use up the Hoosiers on my July 7th track day at Mid-Ohio then put on some new 245/40-17 Hankook Ventus RS3's on the 5Zigens and auto-x with them.

The PittRace auto-x surface seemed pretty slippery but it was still fun to slide the car through the sweepers. Still working on dat driver mod though.

Did you bring a sprayer? Hoosiers will get a bit "greasy", on hot days......

Negative, I didn't bother bringing the Hoosiers and glad I did. Ivan couldn't get his warm at all and almost put Shamu into a concrete barrier. I just ran my Conti DW's.

Sounds like dust from construction, contributed to the slipperyness as well.

Those tires are just no good for autox. You can't get enough heat in them. They are awesome at the track but better left at home for autox

Yes, the surface was strange. Grip was very low in general.

Completely agree. Get some Hoosier A6s or Hankook Z214-soft if you want an r-comp appropriate for autocross.

Change tires for 3-6 minutes of driving? Hell. No. I prefer to arrive and drive.

Will just walks around with a tire pressure gauge to look official. He doesn't actually use it.
