You look very effeminate.

"That article is 4 years old. After the investigation, it was concluded she was NOT covert. If she had been, Libby would have been charged with outing her."

incorrect. the prosecutor did not make any statement as to whether she was or was not covert. his investigation was not intended to answer that question. it was intended to charge libby with obstruction of justice. which means that for whatever reason, he is unable to prosecute for leaking of a CIA officer's identity. this could be because he does not have enough evidence, or that he is unable to sue the vice president. either way, by reading news reports one would not be able to discover whether she was or wasn't covert.

clearly there is something amiss, though, because what did libby have to lie about if nothing illegal happened?

I never said the investigation found she wasn't covert. The investigation was to find out who leaked her name to the press. The prosecutor couldn't prove she was covert, so it should have ended there. Hell, he KNEW it was Armitage before Libby even testified! The obstruction charge came AFTER he perjured himself. His "lying" was what obstructed justice.

In answer to your last question...Perhaps he was telling the truth when he said he forgot who he talked to about it.

It was Richard Armitage who leaked the name, not Novak. And Plame was not covert, she was working at a desk job. Joe Wilson is a confirmed liar.

"she was not covert"

then why did novak "leak" her name? novak was given the name by white house officials for a reason. they were striking back at joe wilson. so why would they care about his wife if she only had a desk job?

my point still stands. CLEARLY something illegal happened if libby would be motivated to mispresent facts - whats he trying to cover up if there was no crime? the investigation was NOT intended to find out who leaked the name - it was intended to try Libby for perjury etc. fitzgerald, for whatever reason, could not make a case for the ACTUAL crime, so he did what he could and got Libby, who in the end became a scapegoat.

Criminal acts? What, are you the judge and jury?
Liberals need to get a grip.

Look, I,m just getting a little tired of all the Bush bashing going on. He's just trying to protect all of us (U.S. citizens) from being anialated from islamic fascisim. Where would we be right now if Al Gore was president? Let me answer my own question. Riding bicycles, wiping our ass with leaves, living in a tent, waiting in a line for rice, wating in a line for health care, getting taxed into oblivion, and, oh I almost forgot, sitting down with hugo chavez at the peace table begging for some oil.

there's some fine, non-biased, non-alarmist logic right there.

well no, but there is a certain judge and jury who convicted libby of lying about a certain situation. of course, maybe they were all just unthinking bush-bashers.

If Bush wasn't doing anything wrong, then you would not be complaining about all of the Bush bashing. You're hearing a lot of it because the majority of U.S. citizens are extremely dissatisfied with the way he has handled things.

You say this as if it would be a bad thing.

I'd rather have people waiting in line for health care than not having it at all, wouldn't you?

Also, over 1/3 of my earnings already go to the government, I'm already being taxed into oblivion thank you very much.

And I'd love it if more people rode bicycles. If they did, it would help our reliance on foreign oil AND help our insane obesity problem.

Bush bashing?

http://hnn.us/articles/5019.html
A recent informal, unscientific survey of historians conducted at my suggestion by George Mason Universitys History News Network found that eight in ten historians responding rate the current presidency an overall failure.

Later in the article
Several charges against the Bush administration arose repeatedly in the comments of historians who responded to the survey. Among them were: the doctrine of pre-emptive war, crony capitalism/being completely in bed with certain corporate interests, bankruptcy/fiscal irresponsibility, military adventurism, trampling of civil liberties, and anti-environmental policies.

And still more

The second most common response from historians, trailing only Nixon, was that the current presidency is the worst in American history. A few examples will serve to provide the flavor of such condemnations. Although previous presidents have led the nation into ill-advised wars, no predecessor managed to turn America into an unprovoked aggressor. No predecessor so thoroughly managed to confirm the impressions of those who already hated America. No predecessor so effectively convinced such a wide range of world opinion that America is an imperialist threat to world peace. I don 't think that you can do much worse than that.

Bush is horrendous; there is no comparison with previous presidents, most of whom have been bad.

He is blatantly a puppet for corporate interests, who care only about their own greed and have no sense of civic responsibility or community service. He lies, constantly and often, seemingly without control, and he lied about his invasion into a sovereign country, again for corporate interests; many people have died and been maimed, and that has been lied about too. He grandstands and mugs in a shameful manner, befitting a snake oil salesman, not a statesman. He does not think, process, or speak well, and is emotionally immature due to, among other things, his lack of recovery from substance abuse. The term is "dry drunk". He is an abject embarrassment/pariah overseas; the rest of the world hates him . . . . . He is, by far, the most irresponsible, unethical, inexcusable occupant of our formerly highest office in the land that there has ever been.

George W. Bush's presidency is the pernicious enemy of American freedom, compassion, and community; of world peace; and of life itself as it has evolved for millennia on large sections of the planet. The worst president ever? Let history judge him.

This president is unique in his failures.

What else is there to say.
