incorrect. the prosecutor did not make any statement as to whether she was or was not covert. his investigation was not intended to answer that question. it was intended to charge libby with obstruction of justice. which means that for whatever reason, he is unable to prosecute for leaking of a CIA officer's identity. this could be because he does not have enough evidence, or that he is unable to sue the vice president. either way, by reading news reports one would not be able to discover whether she was or wasn't covert.
clearly there is something amiss, though, because what did libby have to lie about if nothing illegal happened?

I never said the investigation found she wasn't covert. The investigation was to find out who leaked her name to the press. The prosecutor couldn't prove she was covert, so it should have ended there. Hell, he KNEW it was Armitage before Libby even testified! The obstruction charge came AFTER he perjured himself. In answer to your last question...Perhaps he was telling the truth when he said he forgot who he talked to about it.

my point still stands. CLEARLY something illegal happened if libby would be motivated to mispresent facts - whats he trying to cover up if there was no crime? the investigation was NOT intended to find out who leaked the name - it was intended to try Libby for perjury etc. fitzgerald, for whatever reason, could not make a case for the ACTUAL crime, so he did what he could and got Libby, who in the end became a scapegoat.

If Bush wasn't doing anything wrong, then you would not be complaining about all of the Bush bashing. You're hearing a lot of it because the majority of U.S. citizens are extremely dissatisfied with the way he has handled things.

No predecessor so effectively convinced such a wide range of world opinion that America is an imperialist threat to world peace. I don 't think that you can do much worse than that.
Bush is horrendous; there is no comparison with previous presidents, most of whom have been bad.
He is blatantly a puppet for corporate interests, who care only about their own greed and have no sense of civic responsibility or community service. He lies, constantly and often, seemingly without control, and he lied about his invasion into a sovereign country, again for corporate interests; many people have died and been maimed, and that has been lied about too. He grandstands and mugs in a shameful manner, befitting a snake oil salesman, not a statesman. He does not think, process, or speak well, and is emotionally immature due to, among other things, his lack of recovery from substance abuse. The term is "dry drunk". He is an abject embarrassment/pariah overseas; the rest of the world hates him . . . . . He is, by far, the most irresponsible, unethical, inexcusable occupant of our formerly highest office in the land that there has ever been.
George W. Bush's presidency is the pernicious enemy of American freedom, compassion, and community; of world peace; and of life itself as it has evolved for millennia on large sections of the planet. The worst president ever? Let history judge him.
This president is unique in his failures.
