Well not suspendid, restricted. I reached 12 pts in less then 2 years so they restricted me to driving to and from work and school. :bs: Its for 6 months, so till november i wont be driving too much. One a plus side, i should get a trophy for this. (first) They say that only 16 out of every 10,000 michigan drivers get 12 pts in 2 years. HAHA.
No but forreal this sucks. Maybe now ill slow down.........(scratch)

wow i guess you didnt learn the first, second, third and maybe 4th time you got bagged.....hmmm
gas is costly anyway, use a Mongoose now:)

Let me get this straight...You drive like a moron and your boasting about it???

Im not boasting about the fact i drive like a moron, its that so few people actually accomplish this....

And i dont drive like a moron, none of my tickets were for an outrageous amount over. Its just a bunch of little tickets racked up over the years.

6 Months? That's not bad. My friends owns a M3 and after achieving over 12 pts on his, he got his suspended for a year. He's in the same boat now with a rescricted license.

After my 2nd ticket, I realized I can't afford to keep speeding around like I was.

Yeah I have had my madza3 for just less than a year and I have gotten 3 speeding tickets, two excessive (20+ over) and two from the same state trooper in the same stretch of back-country, Idaho two lane black top…the same trooper...what are the odds? I guess it just took a while for the self control to over power the "zoom-zoom" but my insurance is $240 a month now and I’m one ticket away from being right there with ya mazda3zoom. Yeah, I don't speed much anymore.

Don't call the guy a "moron" for making the best of the mess he's in. When you screw up what else can you do but have a sense of humor about it? I know I would probably have my license taken away for good and be locked up if I were unlucky enough to be caught all the times my right foot was acting up. You never break the rules TGM3? Or are you one of those guys who think you have never been caught because you are a "good driver"…

Sorry to hear about the restriction. I'm just like you, my first speeding ticket ever the cop told me that he had a hard time keeping up with me in medium traffic (apparently my weaving owns that cop) and I had to take that as compliment to help me not freak out about what my mom was gonna say after she found out about the ticket. Making the best of things is pretty much all you can do in situations like these. Good luck to you. Btw how was your trip to CA?

You gotta be kidding. So you think weaving in and out of traffic is "da skill"?

Hope your mom gives you some good ol' spanking.

I get tickets too, but at least I'm not proud of it, and certainly not retarded enough to think that it somehow proves my driving skill. Plus I know when to slow down in order to have my points under control.

This thread is stupid.

He didn't say it was "da skill" you did. He mainly pointed out the that the cop was crappy driver (possibly) or over-exaggerating how he actually drove. It doesn't seem to me that his post is bosting about getting a ticket mainly saying how he delt with the situation.(lurk) And this thread isn't stupid, IMO it's sometimes good to have advice of others not pointless bashing.

hrmm... you got pulled over that many times in Michigan, you do deserve a medal. We drive like 85-90 up thru 75-23-96 on our way to Cadillac/Caberfae skiing and we aren't usually the fastest people on the roads?

Wow buddy, you need to calm down. I didn't say I was proud, nor did I say my weaving in and out is "da skill." If I have to sulk about getting a ticket and be pissed off the whole entire time, I'd rather just have a sense of humor about it and laugh at myself for it. And if you have nothing to contribute short of calling me retarded or calling this thread stupid, you should seriously just keep it to yourself. I am pretty sure the author of this thread feels bad about the whole situation, just as I did when I got my first ticket. Good job to you on knowing how to control yourself, how about you give some good advice rather than just flaming other people who try to make the best of their tickets.

(headshake

Enough with the name-calling and flaming.

Yes, it's a ridiculous topic but that's no reason to be juvenile.

Ok so check this out. I heard that if you get a speeding ticket and say its $45. If you send in a check for $50, the state or county has to refund the extra 5 dollars and if you never cash the refund check it will not be reported to your insurance because it is not a closed case, or something silly like that. I am from Idaho and have not had a chance (luckily) to test it myself but I have heard from two separate people who swear by it. Anyone else heard of this?
