ok so my left headlight has blown out i think....

i tried to check my harness (with my technical ability equal to that of a 1 year old) and didn't seem like anything was loose...
would it have anything to do with the fuse?

or is it just blown... had my car for 2 years...

and if I were to replace them what would you suggest i get? preferable i want something brighter than stock, maybe PIAA ? cuase they seem to be good...
or should i go back to the dealer since my car is stil under warranty?

do you think for around $50 i can get anything decent?

I'm trying to save up for vacation....... damn headlights!

if its just one its proly ther bulb not a fuse, also piaa have a lifetime warranty i think...i have silvania cool blues, had them for 8 months now and are pretty cool

let me double post....

i dun have time to do a search....
i'm on finals week right now....

sorry....

I don't know if you can get PIAA's for $50 for the pair, unless there is a shop near by with good prices...Tire Rack has them, and most are around $80 shipped...

If it is under warranty you could definately get it replaced if it is the stock bulb...My left low beam bulb blew at about 25,000 miles and it was replaced without a problem by the dealer in about 5 minutes...

Had the Protege5 for 1 1/2 years and had two blown headlight bulbs both time it was the driver side's.

I got PIAA bulbs with a 5 year warranty.

FINALS WEEK FOR ME ALSO !!!!

Had my Protege5 for little over a year and have already gone through about 6 bulbs! It has gotten replaced so much the support bracket that holds the bulb in is loose. Almost cost me a state inspection since the bulb wouldn't stay straight and therefore was not casting a correct light pattern.

Your talking about that little spring clip thing correct? Yeah I fawk mines up to trying to get the bulb out. Going to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can put the PIAA bulb back in correctly.

I never new the headlight bulb was under warranty. You mean to tell me the dealer charged me $26 bucks for a factory bulb. (smash)

I would get it checked out. That's WAY too many bulbs being burnt. Unless you have been touching the bulbs (the glass part) with your bare hands when you're installing them... then it's your fault :)

LOL no I don't touch the bulb.
The light problem is experianced alot for a good number of people here.
I do drive with them on all the time and such, but never had that many burn out on my other cars which I did the samething.

And ya its the little clip, I hate H7 bulbs!!!

so if I can get a PIAA set of light blubs should I use those instead of the stock ones? I'm not really crazy about getting the HID white look but I just want something brighter than stock.....

what would be the rating to look for so that it is brigther than stocks?

You can get the real silverstars from here!!

They are supposedly 50% more light too..

What do you mean by real silverstars? You mean Osram vs. Sylvania? Bcoz I bought a pair of Sylvania silverstars at my local Advanced Auto Parts. Haven't installed them yet though.

ok so what number do i look for to refer to light output.... i mean 4000k or 5000k does that mean the amount of light output or just the colour of the light?

ok i read a couple of search threads and I think most ppl say the ones on that link are the best....

so I've read ppl burning their headlights or harnesses.... will these ones do that too? or are the wattage about the same as the 55W for the stock ones..?

also how long does it take from england? can I get some from US? because I can't wait like 2 weeks before they get here....

If any of you have an Advance Auto Parts store nearby, they have the Sylvania Silverstars buy one get the second half price right now. I think they have a mail in rebate going on too.

They are 55W, so no, you shouldn't burn the wire harness.

It took me a week to get the bulbs from them.

They are standard H7 bulbs, but have a tighter twists to produce more light.

REMillers, make sure your bulb is sitting correctly with the little notch end downwards. If the notch us up, the bulb will be loose in the housing. That may be why your bulbs are not in straight.

Also, on another note, from many, many people who use them and from the reseach I've been doing, the Sylvania Silverstars seem to be the best bulbs. They are brighter then any non-hid bulb out there and have a 1 year warranty.
