LED lights

that's exactly what I have in my fogs

btw, wmzda5, when do we get to see you and your beautiful ride? Check TM5 forum, we are having a La Paloma meet tomorrow night. Hope to see you there

Are you satisfied Dima ? Do they light up good ?

these fog lights are just for looks only, they don't provide much light. I have enough light from my HIDs. I also know if you manage to remove the little shield in the fog light assembly, you will get a lot more light.

Did you guys have to put resistors in for the LEDs?

no resistors needed for that, just simple bulb replacement. The only time you will need resistor added if you use LED bulb for turn signals and don't want it to blink faster than usual.

Hopefully in the future Ill attend 1 of the meets. I'd like to but due to conflicting schedules can't. Anyways thanks for the invite. So the meet is now on wednesdays not sundays anymore huh.

the meets are every wednesday at La Paloma
we also have Sundays meets, you just have to check the "Upcoming events/meets" section. I update it all the time. Hope to meet you in person soon.

A lot of guys in Japan are doing complete LED refits with the older style tails. Pretty nice and I'd probably do the same if I had the old style, but I have the newer stock LEDs which I'm satisfied with. Besides, I'm not all too familiar with LED circuit boards and resistors and I'd probably frustrate the hell out of myself taking on this project.

If you do put LEDs in the turn signals and want to add resistors, where do you add them? And will one set (say on the back left) suffice for front and back? Has anyone done this and if so how do they look? Are they bright enough to be seen in daylight? Thanks.

That looks really good, I wonder if we can just buy them somewhere?

It's completely DIY. I'll try to look up a how to that someone posted with links to the materials used, i.e. LEDs, LED reflectors, circuit boards, and resistors. Translation might not be all that great but I'll give it a shot.

Most of that stuff can be acquired here in the US. I'm in Korea right now and one of the hottest mods you can do here is make your own custom LED tails with your own design. I see custom tails everyday.

P2K,

If you have the chance to take a few pictures, we would be interested to see what kind of mods they do down there!

No problem, but most of the cars here are Hyundai, Kia, and Daewoo. I don't know if you'd be interested in them, but I'll take pics and post if you want. One car in particular that I found interesting was the new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. It's badged as a Daewoo Lacetti over here and it's already out. It looks awesome in person. They've already started modding them.

I saw one that looked so good the other day I thought about trading in the MS3 for one when I got back. It looked that good, seriously. All it had done were wheels and suspension. It was on display at the local train station and I'll take pics the next time I go there.

Every car here, I've seen with custom LED tails at some point. No matter what it was. From the biggest SUVs down to the smallest K-car. The new Genesis coupe and sedan were on these roads long before they were in the US and I see them a dime a dozen. They even have custom LED tails and LED conversion kits for the tails(DIY) for the Genesis Coupe, and aftermarket is rising faster everyday for it. It's the #1 tuner car here and it's selling like hotcakes. I even thought about trading in for the Genesis Coupe too.

P2K,

That would be great if you could post some pics... It doesn't matter if they are not M-5s... for most of us, we own another model too!

Thanks.

i've got one of those custom LED tails..
my old thread has pics.

HERE

I remember seeing your thread a while back, they look great. It's a shame they're completely custom. If they were mass produced, I think they would sell pretty well.
