laser blue in a spray can?

when I repainted one of my silver interior pieces, the closest thing I found was:
Seattle Silver by Duplicolor bought at Pep Boys.
It came out really nice but in certain lights the Seattle silver appears a little more bronze than the original but not by much. It cost me about $5 for a small spray can. I would test it on something to see if it is a close enough match for you. Pep Boys had several other Duplicolor silvers that you might want to take a look at.
I am also curious about the laser blue in a can being that my P5 is that color and having a spray can around would be kind of handy.

i remember reading that you can take your paint code off your door (drivers side) and have some auto place make up a spray can and a bottle of whatever color you want.. i haven't tried it but i know red_necks_r_us has.

From what i remember, all you have to do is look for your year, make and model, and they do the rest. I'll have to take a look in my favorite sites when i get home later today for ya. I betcha I saved it somwhere...

take your paintcode from your car and have bodyshop put in spray can for you.
Buy from the link above. The paint looks ridiculously good. I have a Laser Blue P5 and I've used it for my grill, emblem and rear view mirror. It matches perfect. You have to buff the piece inorder to get the shine and also, make sure you buy the clearcoat with Flux if your spraying anything but metal.
Can someone verify that PaintScratch's "[FONT=arial,helvetica][FONT=arial,helvetica]Starry Blue Mica Clearcoat" is actually "Laser Blue"? That is the color listed for the 2001 MP3 and 2003 Protege (there was no Protege5 option). The code is 24A.

24A = starry blue mica which is what mazda calls laser blue.

You can go to any paint store that mixes automotive paint and have them mix your paint code into a pint of paint and then fill a couple spray cans with your factory color. In my town it runs $7 a can and $20 for the pint of paint.
You can get about 6 spray cans out of a pint of paint.

Hey did a search on the paint code cause I am doing the mp3 conversion painting my parts and wondered why the name was Starry blue Mica. I got a mixed quart for free from a painter I know that works for the dealer but I had to buy another quart and this s*** is expensive over 100 dollars for a quart! its the mica that makes it soo expensive the price has recently gone up.Ok well thanks for the info guys.
Well, I went the cheap route. I found some paint at Walmart for $8/can (also at Autozone) that is a pretty close match if you are painting interior parts like me. Its called Dupli-Color Ocean Blue Metal Specs.
It has little 'specs' in it which looks very close to the mica paint. It drys with a satin finish but the instructions say you can add clear coat over it for best results.
Here is what it looks like after two coats of gray automotive primer and once fairly generous coat of blue metal specks (no clear coat)...
FYI, this is probably the best coating spray paint I have ever purchased. It can be applied thick and still dry with an even coating. Just make sure you spray with even strokes and hold the can at an angle away from the direction you are moving.
Closeup (no flash so color is a little off)
Wide shot with flash in my basement (florecent lights)
Outside shot on a sunny day, color is pretty close to the color of my bumper. Its covered in a little saw dust though.

I have painted my Mazda 6 (blue) with spray cans on 2 separate occasions. One was a big scratch on my fender and the other was the spoiler being scratched up by kids vandalizing the car. I got my spray cans from TouchUpPaintOnline.com and the match was spot on. You need to be patient when painting it though, always spray a lot of light coats instead of a few heavy coats....I learned this the hard way since the paint started to drip and I need to sand it then redo.
